"Have loved it for almost 2 yrs now" Posted 2024-11-12
Pros: Itβs like Twitter in usability, but lacks trolls, bots, and both sociopathic hate and narcissistic flash influencersβa hard mix to achieve in social media. Itβs blue-leaning, but not extreme. As a centrist, I feel wholly comfortable here. Twitter is tense, Spoutible is calm. I learn something new every time I go there. #SpoutibleTips is great for onboarding, but itβs really easy to navigate, & people are helpful. I surpassed my Twitter follower numbers (13 years!) pretty fast; nearly every post is engaged with by others. Pod(casts) are fun & varied. More features than any other platform, and no billionaire owner.
Cons: There is NO algorithm & it takes time to let go of the desire for dopamine hits. There are always immature users on platforms, but Iβve *never* seen targeted harassment, and trolls are banned within a couple of hours, so some reviews here seem suspect. Iβm a psychologist & artist & would love to see more artists posting art!
Overall: Spoutible is very easy to use, welcoming, and I learn something new every time I go there. That it was developed with only 7 employees is simply mind-blowing. Going there, for me, feels like coming home and putting my feet up after a long day. Important these days.

"Ultimately disappointed in Spoutible" Edited 2024-05-12
Pros: Itβs small and agile and able to implement technology change quickly. The CEO is good at communicating what technical changes are coming. The presence of bots is limited.
Cons: Absolutely zero functioning moderation to keep site factions from harassing one another in their attempt to dominate and become the biggest influencers on the site. There is some really egregious harassment that some accounts are allowed to inflict on others, which leads to the usual cult of personality formation that social media sites suffer from. And the biggest personality in the cult is the CEO who seems blinded by ego over his creation that he cannot see his own parallels with βThe Emperorβs New Clothesβ or even Elon Musk. Spoutible needs some basic moderation if it wants to continue to claim to be a safe haven for marginalized groups, especially when those groups battle one another for site domination. Itβs another failed attempt at social media to enrich lives and another case study in human behavior for academics.
Overall: I had high hopes for Spoutible following the degradation of Twitter over the years, especially following Muskβs takeover. But Spoutible doesnβt live up to its claims.

"Not the friendly place they pretend to beβ¦" Posted 2023-11-24
Pros: Easy to use, similar look/feel to Twitter. The lack of bots, and the quick turnaround in terminating accounts when bots or trolls attempt to infiltrate, helps reduce harassment. Very friendly, as long as youβre politically hard-left and renounce (or hide) any Christian religious beliefs.
Cons: The social experience here can be likened to a hard-left echo chamber. With a limited number of users, the same posts appear over and over and over. And if your religious or political views donβt mesh with those of the community, make no mistake about it: these βSpoutoniansβ ARENβT EVEN CLOSE to the warm, welcoming committee they profess to be.
Overall: Regardless of the technology or bot-resistant technology incorporated into the product, the true measure of any social media platform has to be its community. And while this community professes itself to be βwelcomingβ, it is only welcoming in a βStepford Wivesβ kind of way, with a βBlue-MAGAβ vibe.

"Spoutible review" Posted 2023-09-25
Pros: I have been on the Spoutible platform for a few months.
People get noticed there immediately and really get into conversations fast unlike other social platforms.
People are friendly and haven't seen a bot in a while cause it will get banned immediately unlike other platforms π€£π€£Cons: I think it's because we're growing slowly. But it might be a good thing.
Overall: Love it and will not change it for any other platforms out there. Go and check it out and tell me if your disappointed.

"Love it" Posted 2023-08-21
Pros: Love the absence of trolls! Love the automatic numbering of threads, and ability to edit for 15 minutes. Love that "we are the algorithm." Love that people say goodnight to each other.
Cons: I don't dislike anything. I'm hoping we'll get a Lists feature so I can organize the people I follow into different feeds.
Overall: Very positive. It's fun watching the culture develop and features get added. I'm pleased to have almost 1000 followers in half the time it took me to get 400 on Twitter.

"Good Twitter copy but it has a strange vibe also not many people on there" Posted 2023-06-18
Pros: Positive: Seems to be a Twitter clone.
Familiar userface.
No ads clogging up the screen.
App runs smoothly enough to use.Cons: Negative: The scoring system based on spouters behaviour and language. Diehard users seem obsessed with keeping their score low or they are known as disruptive and this seems to panic them seems a little black mirror to me and makes me uncomfortable that it is visible for all to see and comment on.
Overall: It's like Twitter but without the user engagement is my overall thoughts. Very left wing politics, and people do get piled on if they say something against the group think. I found it too difficult to find my pod because of this and was a bit wary to add a comment in case i got retweeted and laughed at. It's a good mockup of Twitter and taken all their best ideas but i found the atmosphere and the idolizing of the CEO too much so uninstalled for now.

"Echo Chamber" Posted 2023-06-16
Pros: Nothing. No engagement. The owner is rude. The people are afraid to post their thoughts for fear of being booted.
Cons: No opposing views. Everyone agrees with everyone.
Overall: Boring waste of time and a waste of my hopes being dashed. The owner is hair trigger and it's kinda sad.

"Social Media done right!" Posted 2023-06-16
Pros: Bouzy and his team are the best bouncers on social media! They stamp out the hate and trolls quickly.
Cons: Not a damn thing! Absolutely no bad things about it.
Overall: It's like hanging out with new and old friends who have got your back. And now there's the app! YAY!

"An abomination of a social media platform" Posted 2023-06-15
Pros: It looks nice - though MansurTL, developer of ColibriSM, should be credited for that. Other than that I can't find any reason to use it instead of other Twitter alternatives..
Cons: - Had a huge data breach on launch day (February) with thousands of users' e-mail- and IP-addresses being publicly accessible to everyone for days
- its CEO is a big cyber bully, doxes people, and is a well known scammer (just google "IconicExpert")
- if you disagree with anyone you will get dog piled and harassed
- fake engagement numbers
- echo chamberOverall: Before you consider joining the platform, please do some basic due diligence regarding the platform and its CEO, Christopher Bouzy. It just has too many red flags to be considered a recommendable platform.

"Insidious Gov't propaganda " Posted 2023-05-23
Pros: The overt hate that is seen on Twitter is absent on Spoutible. This is the only good thing about Spoutible.
Cons: Every user seems eerily similar. The same profile photos, the same views, the same declarations. There's no deviation from the script. It feels like an Orwellian brainwashing organisation. "Wear a mask, stop oil, vote Democrat, be kind, Kamala Harris, Trump is bad, Biden is good" etc. on an endless loop. Everything is surface virtue-signalling. No inquiry. No nuance. No critique.
Overall: I've deleted my account. The feeling of having one's thoughts controlled and guided by the State is nauseating.

"Data breaches, slow, bully ceo" Posted 2023-05-02
Pros: Not Twitter, I guess. It has a clean interface and is based on colibreSM. If you want to be around people who love the CEO, this is for you.
Cons: Two days in, user data was leaked via an API that was present in the colibreSM code that runs Spoutible. The CEO negligently didn't even look for this kind of thing. And when you ask him about it, he insults you and bans you. He's created an echo chamber where only his sycophants can be.
Overall: Poor. I'd use any of the other alts before I used this. Also, colibreSM offers an app, why is the CEO taking so long to release it? He seems to be asking for a lot of money and not delivering on that.

"Spoutible is awesome " Posted 2023-05-02
Pros: It's not toxic and ppl can agree to disagree and not get into a huge big fight and the fact that there's not a lot of ppl on there which hopefully changes and hopefully Spoutible gets more exposure but anyway the fact that it feels like a small community that you can peacefully engage with is refreshing.
Cons: I do wish that they had a app and hopefully soon they launch one so I won't have to worry about going to Google because it's right there on my home screen but other than that it's awesome π
Overall: I love Spoutible and quite honestly it's the better alternative for people that are tired of Twitter and Elon Musk and I'm seeing everyday more and more screenshots of how toxic Bluesky might become on Twitter and some people also love it but again Spoutible is the better alternative website/platform and the benefit of being on there is that I don't have to worry about a stupid troll or some stupid invite code and I went in there pretty easily like I mean heck, they gave me the code. So if you ever wanted to get away from Twitter choose Spoutible.
