    The Slovak Toxicology Society (SETOX) is associating professionals in the field of toxicology. SETOX was established in 2006 (by splitting from the Slovak Medical Society) and aims to:

The partners are pooling knowledge and resources to accelerate the development, validation and acceptance of alternative approaches at national, European and global levels. The EPAA includes 5 Directorates-General of the European Commission, 37 companies, and 8 European industry federations, each representing a separate industrial sector.

    The mirror group (MG) consists of representatives of civil society and includes academia, animal welfare, consumers and patient groups. It acts as a consultation forum in an advisory capacity to the steering committee for the implementation of the action programme, the EPAA projects and adds a broader societal perspective to EPAA’s work. The EPAA MG meets with the SC quarterly.

Nominees are active, mid-career scientists involved in toxicology research in the public or private sector that are making substantial and innovative scientific contributions in the field of toxicological sciences. Particular emphasis is given to recent research contributions, and advanced knowledge of European toxicology with an internationally appeal. Scientific accomplishment is the prime consideration in the evaluation review process.
