Vyjayanthimala

Vyjayanthimala Raman (born 13 August 1933) is an Indian actress and politician. She was born in present-day Chennai.[1] Her career lasted from 1949 until 1970. She was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1984 until 1991 and of the Rajya Sabha from 1993 until 1999.

Vyjayanthimala is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, though she was elected to the parliament as a member of the Indian National Congress.[2]

An actress, she is known for her role as Chandramukhi in Devdas (1955). She also starred in New Delhi (1956), Naya Daur (1957), Aasha (1957). She appeared in many movies with Dilip Kumar.
