Samuel Henry John Worthington (born 2 August 1976) is an Australian actor and writer.
In 2004, Worthington was given an AACTA Award for his role in the independent movie Somersault. He is known for his roles in the movies Avatar (2009), Terminator Salvation (2009), Clash of the Titans (2010) and its sequel Wrath of the Titans (2012), Man on a Ledge (2012), Everest (2015), Hacksaw Ridge (2016), The Shack (2017) and Fractured (2019). He was also in Avatar’s sequel Avatar: The Way of Water. He also played Captain Alex Mason in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010). He appeared again as Mason in Black Ops II (2012) and Black Ops 4 (2018). He also played real-life FBI profiler Jim Fitzgerald in the drama miniseries Manhunt: Unabomber (2017).
Worthington was born in Godalming, Surrey, England. He moved to Perth, Western Australia with his family when he was a baby. He grew up in Warnbro, a suburb Rockingham, Western Australia. He married model Lara Bingle in 2014. The couple have two children. Worthington is a Christian.[1]
