National Westminster Bank, commonly known as NatWest, is a major retail and commercial bank in the United Kingdom. The Westminster Bank was established in 1834 as 'London County and Westminster Bank'.
Since 2000, it has been part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. After "ringfencing" of the Group's core domestic business, the bank became a subsidiary of NatWest Holdings.
NatWest is one of the Big Four clearing banks in the UK,[1] It has a large network of over 960 branches.[2]
In 2017, NatWest was awarded Best Banking App in the British Bank Awards.[3]
