From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A pair of gnolls – hyena-headed humanoids

In Dungeons & Dragons, the word monster refers to different kinds of creatures. Some creatures come from folklore and legends. Other creatures were created only for the game.[1] An important part of the game,[2] is that monsters are problems that players must defeat to get through the game.[3] As an important part of Dungeons & Dragons, many of its monsters have become unique even outside D&D.[4]
