Frank Schirrmacher (September 5, 1959 – June 12, 2014) was a German journalist, literature expert and essayist, writer. Since 1994, he was co-publisher of the national German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Schirrmacher died from a heart attack in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, aged 54.[1]
