Dorothy Edith Smith CM (July 6, 1926 – June 3, 2022) was a British-born Canadian sociologist. Her works focused on women's studies, feminist theory, psychology, and educational studies. Smith founded the sociological sub-disciplines of feminist standpoint theory and institutional ethnography.
Smith died in Vancouver, Canada on June 3, 2022, at the age of 95.[1]
