Clive Palmer
Clive Frederick Palmer (born 26 March 1954) is an Australian businessman and politician. He is the leader of the United Australia Party, formerly known as the United Palmer Party, since 2013. He served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2016. He is well known for his wealth and holdings in iron ore, nickel and coal. He owns a nickel refinery in Townsville, Queensland. He also owns many other businesses, including golf courses. From 2008 to 2012, he owned the soccer team Gold Coast United FC. He announced the development of Titanic II (a modern-day replica of RMS Titanic) in 2013.[1]
Palmer was born Footscray, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. He has two children with his first wife, Susan Parker. She died of cancer in 2006. In 2007, he married Annastacia Topalov. The couple have two daughters. Palmer lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
