Area code 724 is a telephone area code in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. It covers the southwestern part of the state, including areas outside of Pittsburgh. It was created in 1998 when it was split from area code 412. It serves many counties in southwestern Pennsylvania, including parts of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Westmoreland, Washington, and Fayette counties.
