That makes sense. 64.250.228.220 is me too. However, we are as much the same person, or sockpuppets, as "Mella Mouse", and "Clementina", and "Belinda"/"Pretty Lydie" are, so why don't you block them too? Road2Peace (talk) 23:34, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Because there is no evidence that they are one person. It has been checked, a lot. Sigh! Still socking hey Jonas, and silly me thought you'd forgot about us. :) fr33kman 23:43, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't intend to use this as a sockpuppet; on En.wiki I registered this account and clicked on a link to Simple, and by SUL it automatically registered over here. Just now, I tried to use my IP address to ask Gwib to contact me, but when this was blocked along with my IP, I remembered that I had it, so I e-mailed him via WP with this account.
I simply asked him if anything of major significance has occurred since I stopped participating as a major contributor after I was blocked in January 2009. Additionally, I discussed some things about Wikimedia's anti-educational culture, the broader implications of a system that adheres to rules and values them as superior to learning from each other, and how Wikimedia's culture has manifested itself on Simple English Wikipedia. Attempts to employ rule-based social systems for the purposes of mutual learning are usually not as educationally beneficial as they have been claimed to be. For example, conventional American schooling does not employ equality and a comfortable environment for everyone to be open to learning. The ideal system would be one in which the dichotomy between learner and instructor is eliminated, but also in which all participants, including (and especially) administrators, act as facilitators for others to learn and are open to different types of people. One of the most extreme examples of Simple English Wikipedia's inability to think outside of the box of Authoritarian Systems — i.e., dealing with those uninitiated with Wikipedia (the Real World) without trying to indoctrinate them — was some administrators reaction to the "Pakistan editor" — block on sight, and ignore. The sole reason for such a dismissive, standoffish, odious reaction was ignorance of the Kashmir conflict (though everyone who was ignorant of the details of Kashmir and its history — Eptalon stands out as one of the more clearheaded ones — did not react in a defensive manner). However, the motivation behind reacting to one's own ignorance in such a way is probably attachment to Wikipedia and a refusal to deviate (or allow deviation) from a set mentality — some would describe it as cult-like — that characterizes Wikipedia's expectations from others. This ("WikiCulture") is an antagonistic mentality, and it should stop, in my opinion.
Also, I had no idea that it had been checked before. When I take a look at it, though, the claim that the group of accounts are all individual children (they are supposedly sisters) doesn't seem plausible. The likelihood that a 13- or 14-year-old child would talk in that manner is low (to think of it, you could probably say the same of me, but I rarely use flowery language like that displayed here). If they are actual children, which I doubt ("AGF" does not really seem healthy to me anymore), then I would like to complement them on their intelligence and large vocabulary — again, it simply seems rather unrealistic.
You seem like a rather cool-headed fellow yourself, fr33kman, unlike some of the other administrators on here (and sometimes I am not the most calm person either). Jonas 96.31.92.52 (talk) 00:43, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Jonas, Jonas, Jonas ... First of all, you are banned dude so no contact is permitted. We don't care about your opinions of "rule based social systems" (we an an encyclopedia, not a social system btw). We don't care about your beliefs regarding current editors, let the actual community deal with things like that. We don't care or want to hear about any opinion you have on anything happening here, because you have been banned. The only relationship you now have with the Simple English Wikipedia is as a reader. I know it sucks Jonas, but it's only a website. Take care and I'm sure I'll be chatting to you on IRC! :) fr33kman 00:58, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
