Last week, our colleague attended the EXCESS Project and IEA EBC Annex 83 Positive Energy Districts Summer School on the Economics and Replication of Positive Energy Districts in Graz!💡🍃 The week was filled with insightful lectures and workshops on topics such as modeling and simulation, flexibility, certification, life cycle analysis, and life cycle costing in relation to PEDs. They also explored economic models from the EBENTO project. 🌲 From the Slovenian Woods to #INFINITE 🌲 Our recent project meeting in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia, was a great opportunity to witness the progress of the Slovenian demo case, managed by Stanovanjsko podjetje Konjice d.o.o. The project is supported by EUTRIP for design, with IRI UL overseeing the overall implementation. We observed the rapid installation of prefabricated timber-based facades with minimal disruption to residents, highlighting the effectiveness of industrialized solutions. 🏡🔧 Interview insights from Žan Pritržnik, CEO of LESOTEKA Group, emphasized sustainable sourcing, waste reduction, and the challenges and opportunities of circular economy practices. 🌍♻️ Similarly, Gregor Sagadin from Stanovanjsko podjetje d.o.o. discussed the complexities of integrating PV panels and the positive community response. 🔋🏢 The crossCert Project EPC Journey describes the creation of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), an official document used to rate the energy performance of buildings. It maps the steps involved in obtaining and utilizing an EPC, keeping the EPC as the main "protagonist" of the process, while highlighting the key stakeholders involved at each step. The EPC Assessment Service is at the core of the journey, outlining the dynamics between the service provider and the customer, contextualized with key steps before and after the service takes place. This provides the basis for the EPC products and services to create value for everyone involved and have a meaningful impact on the world.
