🎂 Last month, we celebrated the King’s Birthday at the British Ambassador's residence in Ljubljana. This was also an incredible opportunity to honour the friendship between the UK and Slovenia, and connect with our fellow colleagues. Additionally, the celebration marked a heartfelt farewell for Ambassador Tiffany Sadler after her remarkable four years in Slovenia. 🙌

👏 We are proud to share that Luka Vesnaver, Chairman of our Chamber, has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of NLB d.d. Fun fact: NLB has been the first Slovenian company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2018.
The shareholders of NLB d.d. gathered today at the 42nd NLB d.d. General Meeting. They decided that part of the distributable profit would be paid out as 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗨𝗥 𝟭𝟭𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, which is EUR 5.50 gross per share, 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. As the term of office of three members of the Supervisory Board of NLB expired, the General Meeting also appointed three members. The shareholders re-appointed Primoz Karpe as a member of the Supervisory Board, and also appointed two new members, namely Natasha Ansell and Luka Vesnaver. “Together with colleagues from the Supervisory Board we are well aware that the challenges facing the Group and expectations of shareholders demand a professional, international best practice and highly functional Board, with the ability to constantly improve and to seamlessly shift across the governance mental models of passive, mentoring, partnering and controlling Board. And having had the privilege to mirror us against the best-of-class international and global corporations’ boards, we are confident we can meet your expectations. NLB’s Supervisory Board is well-balanced and one of the most diverse international supervisory boards in the region, aiming to add value by sharing experience and expertise, as well as providing counsel and advice. At all times seeking to support NLB Group’s growth with prudent risk management, developing its talent pool, and delivering returns to you, our shareholders,” commented Primoz Karpe after the General Meeting. 🌟 Webinar Recap: UK as a Hub for Global Business Expansion 🌐 Our Chamber hosted a webinar to offer a comprehensive guide for Slovenian companies looking to expand their business to the UK. We focused on the strategic advantages and detailed steps in establishing and maintaining a business presence in the UK market. 🖥️ 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 📈 Total trade between Slovenia and the UK reached £1.30 billion at the end of 2023, marking a 1.3% increase from 2022. 🌍 Companies present in the UK benefit from access to global markets, including the US and Commonwealth nations. 🛡️ The Border Target Operating Model, introduced this year, applies to all imports into Great Britain, including those from the EU, and focuses on a risk-based approach. 🤝 The UK, as the fourth-largest exporter of services globally, offers unique advantages through its free trade agreements, facilitating global expansion. 🔍 UK-based companies often receive better trading and credit terms from local suppliers. 📑 Any entity making taxable supplies in the UK is eligible to register for VAT, with certain exemptions available. 💼 We also looked at a step-by-step guide on how to set up a business in the UK. Many thanks to the expert speakers from Carpenter Box – Meghan Osborne CTA, Andrew Neuman, and Thomas Mobee – as well as Vaishali Patel from the British Embassy in Ljubljana and Azra Begic Milanez from A Tax International Ltd., for their contributions during the webinar. The webinar was organised in partnership with SPIRIT Slovenija, javna agencija, Ministrstvo za gospodarstvo, turizem in šport / Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, and A Tax International Ltd. 💼 Last week, the Chamber's Management Board gathered at ELAN Group's headquarters, a valued member with strong links to the United Kingdom's market. This meeting was particularly significant as it marked the final board meeting for His Majesty's Ambassador to Slovenia, Tiffany Sadler. HMA Sadler has also served as the Honorary President of our Chamber for the past four years. 🙌 Throughout her mandate, one of her important roles has been boosting bilateral trade and investment between Slovenia and the UK, leading to the development of new partnerships in energy, green finance, architecture, tech, and defense industries. 📈 🌟 We are grateful for the unwavering support from the British Embassy in Ljubljana, and we extend our best wishes to HMA Sadler in all her future endeavors.

What an amazing celebration of the 1st anniversay of Chapter Zero Slovenia, with two real case studies discussed by the panel of experts. 🎉 We are proud to be one of the founding members of this climate change initiative, along with Združenje nadzornikov Slovenije / Slovenian Directors' Association and Deloitte. Excited for all the new projects in the year ahead! 🚀👏
🎉🌿 Danes smo z velikim veseljem praznovali 1. obletnico delovanja Chapter Zero Slovenia! Razpravo z izvrstnimi strokovnjaki - Bojana Florjančič (Hansen Beck), Janez Rakušček (Luna \TBWA), Saša Sodja (CMS Slovenia) in Stefan Spiroski (Nova KBM d.d.) 🗳️ 📸 Več utrinkov z dogodka: https://lnkd.in/dBYRdfDE Posebna zahvala gre glavnemu partnerju dogodka CMS Slovenia in partnerju dogodka BTC d.d.
