👀 It’s summertime and therefore time for #AmChamThrowback. In 2024, at AmCham Focus events 🔍, we focused on several topics. The Values That Guide Us 🧭 We asked the members of the AmCham Board of Governors if they had to choose only one favorite value from the five that best represent AmCham Slovenia, which one they would choose. In partnership with the U.S. Embassy Ljubljana, AmCham Slovenia once again successfully organized the Student Entrepreneurship and Internship (SEI) program, which connects study and business pathways. On Monday, July 8, 2024, SEI 2024, the summer school of entrepreneurship, which brought together 22 students from various professional fields, kicked off. During the first week of the program, the students visited various organizations and companies and gained valuable insights into different industries. With the help of guest lecturers, successful entrepreneurs, and mentors, they learned about the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the legal aspects of entrepreneurship, the opportunities to develop and finance their ideas and MORE 🚀 https://lnkd.in/d8W9aHNC In the second week, entrepreneurship professor Jay Ebben guided the students through the Learn Start Up method, from the entrepreneurial idea to the realization. Participants worked in teams to research and develop their own business concepts, which they presented on the last day of the program.

UVEDBA OBVEZNEGA PREDMETA DIGITALNI JEZIK (RAČUNALNIŠTVO IN INFORMATIKA) 💻   V Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije - Združenje za informatiko in telekomunikacije so analizirali letošnje Poročilo digitalnega desetletja za leto 2024, ki ga je objavila Evropska komisija. 📑   ℹ️ Stanje za Slovenijo je alarmantno. Slovenija v zadnjih dveh letih nazaduje na področju digitalizacije in je padla pod povprečje EU. Na področju digitalnih kompetenc je stanje prav tako zelo slabo, saj smo razen na enem kazalniku pod povprečjem EU, najslabše pa se je Slovenija odrezala po števila IKT strokovnjakov, kjer smo šele na 25. mestu.    Pomanjkanje digitalne pismenosti v našem izobraževalnem sistemu lahko ovira potencial naše mladine in napredek naše države in gospodarstva v digitalni dobi❗ Zagotovitev, da vsak učenec v Sloveniji pridobi digitalne kompetence in znanja, mora zato nujno postati nacionalna prioriteta.   Kljub mednarodnemu poudarku k premagovanju digitalne razlike, obsežni medijski pozornosti ter razpravam in pozivom, ki jih skupaj s podporniki- spodbujamo že več let, Slovenija še vedno ni uvedla obveznega predmeta, ki bi poučeval znanja računalništva in informatike. Tudi zadnje poročilo UMAR o produktivnosti opozarja, da ima Slovenija v Nacionalnem strateškem načrtu za digitalno desetletje velik razkorak med cilji in ukrepi, ki naj te cilje podpirajo. 

Anita Ogulin, an exceptional person, humanitarian, and the AmCham Business Leader of the Year 2024, has left us, but her legacy will continue to inspire. Her words, "We can only share our emotions with people and not with goods... I understand the potential that lies within everyone if we know how to discover, unlock, and support it," will remind us in the future of the importance of cooperation, which she saw as crucial for the progress of our society. We’ve just started the second week of the SEI 2024 program (Student Entrepreneurship and Internship), which we organize yearly in partnership with the U.S. Embassy Ljubljana. 🚀 Last week, ambitious students, the participants of SEI 2024, had the opportunity to explore various organizations and companies, gaining valuable insights into different industries. This week, we’re thrilled to dive into the world of entrepreneurship with Professor Jay Ebben. The focus is on transforming ideas into reality using the Lean Start-Up methodology. The SEI course is structured around an experiential lean start-up project, where students will work in teams to research and develop their own business concepts (from conducting primary and secondary market research to building and testing prototypes) that they will present on the final day of the program. 💡 Comment if you are part of the SEI 2024 program. 👀
