Seven B.Sc Hons. We’re proud of Tan Ying Ling, FMC ASEAN Commercial Excellence and Business Development Leader, who was part of the recently concluded Accelerator Mentorship Program, led by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and International Agri-Food Network (IAFN), to mentor and help developing women-led small companies in the agriculture sector in Africa.  Aimed at fostering a selected number of women entrepreneurs with one-to-one mentorship with businesswomen from around the globe, to give them tools and knowledge to continue growing their business and succeed, the program lasted from October 2023 through June 2024. Hear what Ying Ling and her mentee, African entrepreneur Hadiza Mshelia, who runs Tassiwa Multi-Purpose Services in Nigeria, had to say about the program. “The mentorship program with FAO was truly brilliant and transformative. Ying Ling provided invaluable guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way. I gained new insights, developed crucial skills, and made meaningful improvements to my business. The program not only helped me overcome challenges but also inspired me to reach new heights in my professional journey,” said Hadiza Mshelia. “I truly enjoyed the interaction and cross-cultural learning. We delved into different parts of her sweet potato processing business operations to find new ideas while brainstorming ways to address key challenges. I deeply admire the grit and passion displayed by Hadiza and other African women entrepreneurs and strongly believe that empowering these women is one of the best ways to contribute to food security and sustainability in the region and beyond,” shares Tan Ying Ling. The month of June has flown by in a blink of the eye! FMC's biodiversity initiative, Project Madhu Shakti, has been featured in a report titled 'Business Actions for Biodiversity Conservation: From Principles to Practice' published by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) United Nations Development Program (UNDP).  The report, which showcases sustainable business actions of key industry players, serves as a guide to businesses in strategizing their mitigation actions and promoting biodiversity conservation.  Project Madhu Shakti is a collaboration between FMC and India's top agriculture college GB Pant University, Pantnagar. By teaching rural women beekeeping skills, the project aims to expand bee colonies and help flora thrive, while equipping rural women with the means to earn additional income through entrepreneurship and educating farmers on the effective use of crop protection products. FMC has been honored with the AmCham CARES 2024 award for its exceptional commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices.  Conferred by the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the award celebrates FMC's impactful initiatives that drive positive change and uplift communities across Asia.  An example of such an initiative is STRIDE, which stands for Smallholder Transformation Initiative for Development and Education, a multi-year program that aims to support small landholders, an underserved farmer segment, with the right tools and knowledge to achieve better yields and livelihoods.  The initiative supports over 11,000 smallholder farmers in India, Pakistan, and the Philippines, to significantly increase crop yield in staple crops like paddy and rice, with the goal to impact the lives of for more than 70,000 smallholder farmers across the region by year 2025.  🌾  #FMC #FMCAsiaPacific #Honored #CSR #Sustainability Jasmine Karimi
