“You cannot create experience. You must undergo it." --French philosopher Albert Camus This sentiment rings true for organisations pursuing sustainability--only those that implement it can share their stories. The above words prefaced the 2014 report "Accountability for A Sustainable Future: Sustainability Reporting in Singapore among Singapore Exchange Mainboard Listed Companies 2013". A collaboration among Thomas Thomas, then Founding Executive Director of Singapore Compact for CSR, Prof Lawrence Loh and his team, the report ignited the journey of the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) in corporate sustainability research. Thank you to everyone who has been with us. Here’s to many more years of impactful research and collaboration! ASEAN CSR Network NUS Business School #10YearsOfExcellence #Governance #Sustainability

10 years in corporate sustainability research. That's a new milestone unlocked for the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) . We also unlock the benefits of research by bridging insights with industry needs. Over the years, CGS has been a knowledge partner in awards and competitions, developing the assessment criteria and serving on judging panels. That is unlocking the list of exemplary standards in sustainability and governance. A valued partner, David Gerald, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, Securities Investors Association (Singapore), says, "Over the years, our collaboration on the SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards (ICA) has been immensely rewarding. CGS’s expertise in assessing some of the awards under ICA has greatly enhanced the credibility of these accolades. Your efforts not only recognise outstanding corporate practices but also inspire organisations to adopt best practices in transparency and shareholder communication." Tonight, the results of the SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards (ICA) will be out. Tomorrow, we celebrate the winners who bring sustainable governance to a higher level. It was dedication that sealed the deal. NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) has been dedicated to advancing corporate sustainability research over the past decade, earning a reputation as a pioneer in this area. "It is this outstanding reputation that made CGS our partner of choice for the seminal study “Climate Reporting in ASEAN: State of Corporate Practice” (2022)," says Dr Allinnettes Adigue, Director, ASEAN Network, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI ASEAN and NUS CGS further solidified the partnership with an MOU signing in 2023, setting the path to promote corporate governance, sustainability and reporting in the region through joint events and programmes. It has been CGS' privilege to work with esteemed partners such as GRI, and we welcome more to join us on this sustainability journey.
