Thank you all for joining us at Crypto Brunch last Friday! The turnout was pleasantly overwhelming yet still manageable this time. Our focal point of discussion revolved around BTC ETFs 😁 (not a surprise) and their potential impact on the crypto market. During our engaging conversation, we delved into a captivating point about how the adoption of ETFs may contribute to the reduced volatility of crypto assets like Bitcoin, supported by a couple of key reasons: 1. ETFs are designed for holding rather than frequent trading. Consequently, BTC allocated to represent these ETFs will likely be held for the long term. While it could be argued that this might diminish market liquidity, it's improbable that ETFs will amass a significant market share to induce such an impact. 2. ETFs establish a secondary market, obviating the need to trade BTC on-chain or on crypto exchanges. The "ownership" of BTC can be effortlessly exchanged through buying and selling on traditional exchanges where these ETFs are listed. 3. ETFs introduce a fresh influx of capital into the market, thereby expanding the overall market cap. With more participants in the market, the ability of individual players, including "whales," to influence the market through rapid buying or selling diminishes. In conclusion, Bitcoin is progressively adopting the characteristics of digital gold, evolving into a more pronounced asset for store of value. Great news for #crypto: #Bitcoin ETFs have been approved by the #SEC provided by 11 institutions (including #BlackRock)! Next week we will cover advantages and disadvantages of holding ETFs vs Bitcoin asset itself, but for now this is a major step towards digital assets adoption! What that means is that digital assets such as #BTC, #ETH and more are here to stay.
