The South China Sea is a vital waterway, rich in resources and crucial for global trade. But it's also a hotspot for geopolitical tensions. Meet Colonel Tad Woolfe, our Air Force Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. From a very young age, Colonel Woolfe had an unwavering sense of duty to his country. His grandfather fought in World War II maintaining B-17 bombers and his father served in the Army National Guard. During his childhood, his grandfather’s home displayed a large picture of all the U.S. Air Force planes flown, igniting his passion to serve. Through an AFROTC scholarship, he embarked on what he thought would be a four-year commitment, but he found himself drawn deeper in the call of duty. Now, after 23 years of exemplary service, Colonel Woolfe is preparing to go home, retiring with distinction, and leaving behind a legacy of honor and commitment to integrity, service, and excellence. Wheels up and wings level – we wish Colonel Woolfe and his Woolfepack a smooth ride!

A big thank you to Minister Josephine Teo, Members of Parliament Carrie Tan and Patrick Tay and our distinguished guests who celebrated the United States’ 248th Independence Day with us! Yesterday, we celebrated the 4th of July at Clifford Pier, a historical landing point for immigrants who sought new opportunities in Singapore. Both Singapore and the United States are nations built by immigrants, and we draw our strength from the diverse cultures and new ideas brought by successive waves of immigration. The United States stands as a testament to the journeys of those who arrived seeking opportunity, and alongside our Singaporean friends, we honor the shared values of resilience, diversity, and tolerance that continue to shape our societies.
