From 5 years to 50 years in service, we recognise the individuals in TTSH who serve our patients and grow with us through the years. Everyone’s journey in TTSH is different - but all their stories make us who we are today. Hear from some of our staff who were recognised for their long service earlier today on what it means to be the people behind the People’s Hospital. #FacesOfTTSH

While often referred to as a 'Disease of the Past', Tuberculosis (TB) is not uncommon in our population. TB though is preventable and definitely curable. From today, to better reflect the integrated national strategies for preventing and managing TB in Singapore, our Tuberculosis Control Unit (TBCU) and the Tuberculosis Contact Clinic (TBCC) - both major functions of the National Tuberculosis Programme – have been renamed to the National Tuberculosis Care Centre (NTBCC), and the National Tuberculosis Screening Centre (NTBSC). The NTBCC is the national referral centre for TB evaluation and treatment, and manages complicated TB cases while NTBSC screens close contacts of persons with TB and provides preventive therapy. The name change reflects our continued approach towards patient-centred care, providing patients and families all the support and care they need and will not affect the services we have been providing for decades. Through shared responsibility, let us all work together towards eliminating TB in Singapore. National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID)

Last Friday at TTSH, we had the privilege of hosting a cheque presentation session with TADA Singapore, who generously donated $15,000 to support our IWanttoGoHome (IWGH) Fund. TADA has organised a Charity Walkathon with their drivers, and the fund raised will support TTSH needy patients with transport assistance. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to TADA for their fundraising efforts. And we encourage more local companies to partner with us. If you would like to support our IWGH Fund, you may visit https://lnkd.in/gPMd4wya to learn more.
