With the Paris Olympics kicking off in a few hours’ time, Singtel wishes all our athletes the very best at the games! Having met and featured three of Singapore’s best athletes - kitefoiler Maximilian, fencer Kiria and shuttler Kean Yew, in our National Day film (https://lnkd.in/gsPdzMVB), we’ve learned what drives them and their ingredients for success: speed, resilience and tenacity. Let’s cheer them on as they fly the Singapore flag and chase their dreams in Paris! Singtel has been an Official Partner of Singapore National Olympic Council since 2012. Last year, we renewed our sponsorship for the third time pledging S$1.7 million over the next five years, our biggest sponsorship for sports to date.

Singtel celebrates National Day with an Olympics film featuring some of Singapore's most promising sports profiles: shuttler Loh Kean Yew, kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder and fencer Kiria Tikanah Abdul Rahman. “As a long-time sponsor of the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), we’ve been privileged to extend our unstinting support to Team Singapore as they’ve strived to represent the country in the world’s major games, putting Singapore on the global stage time and again. The road to the Olympics requires hard work, focus and the determination to succeed and these values resonate deeply with us at Singtel. We are proud to feature three of Singapore’s best athletes - Kean Yew, Maximilian and Kiria - and we hope this will inspire a new generation of youth who dare to chase their dreams and have the work ethic to realise their full potential,” says Kuan Moon Yuen, Singtel Group CEO. Rising mobile economy, sustainability challenges, AI use cases and more were discussed at today’s Digital Nation Singapore Summit co-hosted by GSMA and Singtel. Held in Singapore for the first time, the event featured experts from the tech and telco sectors, exploring the critical role of mobile technology in driving economic growth and the need to create a more inclusive digital future for Asia Pacific as well as the GSMA APAC Fintech Forum, aimed at helping the Southeast East Asian mobile economy innovate and secure online trust. Over 200 industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators joined us for the full day session held at our learning academy at 8George. Julian Gorman, Head of Asia Pacific at the GSMA, kicked off the event with key findings from the latest Mobile Economy Asia Pacific 2024 https://bit.ly/4c2Xtgq, highlighting the numerous opportunities that the rising number of mobile internet users and data traffic in Asia Pacific offers enterprises. Singtel Group CEO Kuan Moon Yuen said, “We see the exponential rise in enterprise mobile applications and solutions as a big boost to businesses, especially given the emergence of GenAI and the shift to the cloud as digitalisation continues to accelerate. This is why we’ve been working with many industry leaders to leverage intelligence, machine learning and robotics and cloudification to improve their productivity and customer engagement as well as innovate and scale their operations. While we ensure that our customers are well-supported in their digital transformation journey, we’re also mindful of the need to continue to provide vulnerable groups with access to digital tools so they too can be empowered and engaged in a digital economy.” We also signed two Memoranda of Understanding with leading telcos in Thailand and Malaysia – AIS and Maxis to federate Telco APIs, mitigate fraud in real-time to protect more consumers and fight rising digital scams: https://bit.ly/3Yjo9GO CEO of Singtel Singapore Tian Chong Ng said, “The rise of ecommerce in the region has opened more avenues for digital fraud, significantly impacting consumers and businesses. Together with AIS and Maxis, we can combat this rising digital fraud and protect our customers more effectively. Tapping into our telco data and collective expertise, we will be able to seamlessly authenticate, protect and mitigate financial fraud so our customers across Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia can enjoy a safe digital lifestyle. We will continue to lead the charge against digital fraud and encourage more MNOs to come onboard to build a stronger defence for all.” #Singtel #GSMA #mobileconnectivity #SingVerify #telco #telcoAPIs IMDA Google Amazon Vodafone Ericsson TikTok Palo Alto Networks NCS Group SUTD Academy ST Engineering EY Mastercard Telenor Circles Aileen Tan Keith Leong Kwang Yong Lee Collin Lee Cheng Choon Si Lin Shu Fen Julian Gorman Asnee Wipatawate

We're supportive of the amalgamation of Intouch Holdings and Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited which will create a leading digital and energy infrastructure player in Southeast Asia. This group restructuring aims to simplify our shareholding in Thai associate Advanced Info Services Plc. (AIS) by removing Intouch as the intermediary holding company. Currently, Singtel and GULF hold 24.99% and 47.37% in Intouch respectively while Intouch holds 40.44% in AIS. All three entities are listed on the Thai stock exchange. Arthur Lang 蓝道义, Singtel’s Group CFO, said, "For some years now, Singtel and GULF, as major shareholders of Intouch, have been working to streamline the diversified holding structure of Intouch. We believe it is in the best interests of stakeholders to simplify AIS’ shareholding structure and are supportive of this move. We have always preferred to hold direct stakes in our associates and this amalgamation is a step in the right direction. In addition to the special dividend of THB 4.50 per share which Intouch will be proposing for its Board’s approval, we have the opportunity to increase our 23.3% direct stake in AIS, which has consistently been a strong brand and business, through this transaction.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e8SZ8TNS
