This year, a group of students from Singapore Institute of Technology is making history at the 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐞𝐈𝐒𝐑) 2024 as the first Singaporean and Southeast Asian team to participate 🌊 Hosted by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) and QinetiQ, the human-powered submarine racing #competition challenges university students around the globe 🌐 to design and construct submarines which they will compete in during the races from 24 June to 5 July. It has been an eventful few months for 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑵𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑲𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 as they swiftly progressed from designing a digital mockup of their submarine 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘰 to hull construction and integration of electrical and propulsion systems, before launching into a rigorous phase of testing and refinement 🛠 Now ready for action, the team has arrived in Gosport, UK to put their skills to the test. We wish Ryan, Kathikumar, Jolyn, Jacob, Zu Yi, Chester, Jun Rui, Dong Nyeok, Xavier and Irfanaali the very best as they continue to fly our flag high 🇸🇬 The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) is proud to support the innovation and drive of our #youths to engineer their ideas into reality 💡
