  • Strengthening cybersecurity cooperation and resilience regionally, as well as establishing a rules-based multilateral order in cyberspace internationally, are key priorities in ASEAN’s digitalisation journey.   Those were the key messages delivered by Minister Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Smart Nation and Cybersecurity, at her opening address at the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity today. Minister Teo highlighted three ways to improve ASEAN’s collective cybersecurity – strengthening cyber incident response in ASEAN by sharing information and warnings with other regional Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), developing technological standards to build confidence among businesses and users, and enhancing capacity building efforts.   In addition, Minister Teo also highlighted ASEAN's commitment to the voluntary, non-binding norms for responsible behaviour in cyberspace recommended by the 2015 UN Group of Governmental Experts (UNGGE), and the ongoing development of a norms implementation checklist as a non-binding reference for ASEAN Member States.   Catch the recorded session of the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity on the SICW YouTube channel here: https://lnkd.in/gPeQtMti
