Updates

  • Building on the momentum of our brand refresh earlier this year with our tagline “Where discovery never ends”, we are proud to unveil another inspiration to draw deeper within yourself every time you step into Sentosa. Centred on ”Finding Ourselves in New Ways”, the new video goes beyond showcasing Sentosa’s diverse experiences to champion the important, but often ignored, journey of self-discovery. Intertwined with the island’s varied offerings, the video has been crafted to specially draw attention to how our guests can find a piece of themselves amid our island’s scenic beauty. Watch the new video here and be inspired to experience Sentosa in a new light. #Sentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds

  • Today marks a significant milestone for Sentosa Development Corporation with the signing of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTUC LearningHub, supported by Resorts World Sentosa. Graced by Guest-of-Honour, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Culture, Community and Youth Alvin Tan, the MoU marks a significant step in Sentosa’s commitment to empower workers on Sentosa through strategic upskilling initiatives. As part of the MoU, we will be launching the One Sentosa Transformation and Equipping Platform (1-STEP), a skills and transformation initiative aimed at providing specialised programmes for approximately 15,000 workers on Sentosa. The focus will be on areas critical to the future of tourism including customer experience, sustainability, wellness and artificial intelligence. This valuable partnership comes off the back of Singapore Tourism Board’s broader efforts to boost employability within the tourism sector. We look forward to working closely with our key partners to foster a culture of continuous learning that strengthens Singapore’s position as a premier global tourism destination. #Sentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds #1-STEP

  • Yesterday, we unveiled the development of the new butterfly corridor at Imbiah Terrace. Over 3,000 trees, shrubs, and groundcovers will soon be taking root, creating a vital corridor between various natural habitats on the island, aiding the growth and species recovery of the butterfly population on the island, such as the Tailed Jay and Lime Butterfly. The launch was marked by a ceremonial planting of butterfly-attracting plants led by Chief Executive, Kwee Eng Thien and Mr Khew Sin Khoon, an avid lepidopterist and founder of ButterflyCircle. Over 30 different species of plants will be planted, out of which 10 species will be native including the Red Leea, Malayan Ixora and Singapore Rhododendron. This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and the protection of Sentosa’s rich biodiversity. The butterfly corridor is just one of many green spaces on the island where visitors can immerse themselves in nature and explore biodiversity that is unique to Sentosa. In light of the recent oil spill in Singapore’s waters, we are diligently working with certified contractors and appointed experts and contractors on the beach clean-up efforts, while actively monitoring and assessing other areas on the island to mitigate further environmental impacts of the oil spill. There had been varying degrees of impact across the three beaches on Sentosa. Siloso Beach is the least impacted, followed by Palawan then Tanjong Beach. Over 300 workers have been deployed daily across Sentosa’s beaches, swiftly engaging in the clean-up efforts with their specialised oil containments and recovery equipment such as skimmers. Beach cleaning machine and mini excavators have also been deployed for quick recovery and shifting of contaminated sand away from the beaches. We are collaborating with MPA’s consultant, International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation ITOPF, to assess suitable recovery efforts for these areas and to assist in the cleaning and restoration of the water quality along the Sentosa beaches. We understand how valuable our beaches are to our guests and residents and hope to be able to re-open our beaches soon. Do watch this space for any updates. #Sentosa

We were delighted to join the Singapore Tourism Board at the STB China MICE Conference held in Wuxi, China, from 12 to 13 June. The event gathered more than 200 delegates and media from across China to explore and highlight the attractiveness of hosting Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in Singapore. During a focused panel on the evolution of international MICE standards and the shifting demands of Chinese enterprises, our Assistant Chief Executive, Michael MA, shared insights into the evolving demands of the MICE sector. He emphasised how Sentosa and our Island Partners synergistically and uniquely combine leisure and business, and leverage technology and our sustainable practices to reinforce Sentosa's role as a leading sustainable MICE destination in Asia. As a Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certified destination, we are committed to pioneering innovative and immersive experiences to advance the MICE landscape in Singapore. Host your next MICE event here with us as we continue to push the boundaries with our businesses on the island of what a #MICE destination can offer for organisers and guests. #Sentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds

  • We are thrilled to announce RISE (Rallying Island Sustainability Efforts) sustainability showcase, our latest initiative aimed at educating visitors on sustainability and spotlighting the whole-of-island efforts in reducing Sentosa’s environment footprint. From decarbonisation to disposables management, the collective efforts of the #SentosaCarbonNeutralNetwork (SCNN) and other island partners have been reimagined as interactive exhibits created through repurposed waste.    As part of #OneSentosa, some highlights include: 1. W Singapore Sentosa Cove Cove and Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa: Repurposed 1,388 plastic bottles and 388 amenity kit bottles into backdrops and displays for the “Waves of Renewal” exhibit 2. Resorts World Sentosa: Repurposed 48 end-of-life bedsheets into a seagrass and marine life installation Our exhibits are developed in collaboration with sustainability advocates and miniature artists Qiyun Woo(@theweirdandwild), Celeste Chow (@tingcorner) and Anthony Ong (@likeants), spotlighting key initiatives like solarisation, recycling, electric vehicle adoption, and marine habitat conservation. A special feature of the showcase is also the miniTrashLab, an upcycling workshop conducted by Mount Faber Leisure Group where visitors can create their own upcycled sunglasses from island-sourced plastic waste. RISE is located at Sentosa Beach Station and will be open from now till December 2024. Join us in our journey towards #SustainableSentosa! #Sentosa #SustainableSentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds
