We’re enabling the maritime energy transitions with our mtu large engines now approved for use with sustainable fuels like HVO. Our mtu Series 1163 and 8000 large engines deliver between 4,800 and 10,000 KW with SCR systems for compliance with emission stage IMO III, enabling operators to sail in Emission Control Areas. Knut Müller, Senior Vice President Global Governmental Business at Rolls-Royce Power Systems comments: “With this portfolio expansion, we are making our mtu large engines future-proof and more climate-friendly in line with our strategy. They have been setting standards in their power range for many years in terms of power density, efficiency and economy.” Read more: https://ow.ly/HxWw50Tw3F7 #maritime #marine #sustainablefuels

We’re proud to support the next generation of aerospace leaders and sponsor the U.S. Air & Space Forces Association’s Aerospace Education program. This year’s AFA Rolls-Royce National Teacher of the Year is Ty White, a chemistry teacher at Willcox High School in Willcox, Arizona. Students say Ty’s passion for the wonders of science and technology is contagious, leading many of them to pursue careers in STEM. At Rolls-Royce, we know that teachers like Ty are vital to developing the next generation of leaders we need to keep our workforce strong. Take a look at Ty’s inspiring story:

The 112-inch titanium fan on the Trent 7000 rotates at 2,500rpm. The engine delivers more than 72,000lb of thrust – that’s over 65,000hp produced from the fan and over 3,000hp produced by each fan blade. It proudly powers the latest generation of aircraft, the Airbus #A330neo. Discover more about #Trent7000 and the #PowerofTrent here: https://ow.ly/ejIr50Tu5Mp

The Wisent 1 support vehicle and Leopard 1 tank family are being modernised with the help of our mtu 8V199 engines. We’re working together with FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft and transmission specialist ZF to develop a concept for the long-term repowering of the vehicles. The new engines are more powerful, cheaper, lighter, more economical and with longer service intervals and a longer service life than the mtu MB838 engine they’ll replace. During 2024 we continue to see strong momentum within the aircraft transitions market. Widebody demand remains robust, with Trent 700 powered Airbus A330s maintaining their position as the medium widebody and engine combination of choice. With 75 million engine flying hours and powering over 80% of the A330P2F fleet and backlog, it’s easy to see why the Trent 700 is further strengthening its legacy built on leading passenger aircraft transitions and now for medium widebody freighter conversions. https://ow.ly/rSBp50TrzeM #RollsRoyce
