𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲! Earlier this year, we launched our inaugural global idea competition, 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝟴. This initiative brought together our regional teams to collaborate, brainstorm, and submit their most 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀. We were thrilled to receive an overwhelming 𝟭𝟬𝟰 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 from across our organisation. Just a few weeks ago, we concluded the exhilarating second round of Innov8, where we enthusiastically supported 𝟲𝟭 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 (𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰) as they presented their visionary ideas to senior leadership. Witnessing their 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 was truly inspiring. As Innov8 advances to its third and final round, we extend our 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀! 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 for making a meaningful impact in their communities! Recently, our 𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 rolled up their sleeves for a 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 in support of National Blood Donor Week, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 one donation at a time. Meanwhile, our 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 worked with Singapore Food Bank to pack and deliver food bundles, 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 to those who need it most. Next Monday, 17 June, is 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗶 or 𝗘𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗹-𝗔𝗱𝗵𝗮, a public holiday also known as the 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. This falls 70 days after the holy month of Ramadan and marks the end of Haj, where millions of Muslims around the world retrace Prophet Muhammad’s pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Many Muslims commemorate this festival with non-mandatory fasting, special prayers, acts of kindness, and family gatherings. We wish all who celebrate a 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 and a happy long weekend in Singapore! 

𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝟮𝟮 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆, also known as Buddha Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, and Buddha Day. This is a public holiday commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha. Buddhists in South Asia, Southeast Asia, as well as Tibet and Mongolia, mark this day with temple visits, prayers, meditation, reflection, and acts of kindness. There’s a special feeling that comes with 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 each other’s cultures and traditions with your 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 in the office. This week, we had the pleasure of doing just that, in honour of 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗮. The 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, the 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮 of traditional dishes wafting through the air, and the 𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 to share a meal, all add up to a 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 amongst colleagues. When we take the time to break bread and exchange stories and laughter with the people we work with, we are reminded of the importance of 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. Work can be hectic and stressful, and for many of us, it’s this sense of 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 that makes it more than just a job. Intense focus, panicked laughs, a lot of broken spaghetti, and a late afternoon sugar high! In the world of coaching and mentoring, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵-𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 are utilised to help people discover strengths and talents that are unique to them, and whilst this is beneficial no matter which stage of life and career we are in, it is particularly valuable for 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀. Knowing your strengths can raise your 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, and 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀, and through these, help you find more 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.  With this in mind, we invited our 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 to experience the entire process of taking an assessment, receiving their results, and attending an afternoon workshop with our 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 Kresta I. As young professionals about to embark on a 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 of their lives, it was important for them to understand that the strength-finding test is merely a 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 and 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀 that can limit their potential. Whilst some of them had identified strengths they hadn’t fully realised, everyone kept an open mind and gamely participated in all the afternoon’s discussions and activities. These included 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 (𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙨), 𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀, and the 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, which is a known team-building activity that helps us simultaneously observe the strengths of our peers and highlight our own. With a swag bag and bragging rights up for grabs, the 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀, and although both structures stood tall – the girls won, thanks to the 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 of their 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Imagine how much more magnified those strengths would be in a real-life, high-risk, and high-stakes scenario.
