Making their mark on Singapore’s sustainability scene are the Singapore Sustainability Scholars of 2024. Offered by National Environment Agency, PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency and Singapore Food Agency, the Scholarship nurtures and supports talents to grow their capabilities in areas such as environmental science and engineering, molecular and cell biology, veterinary medicine and other disciplines. Our goal is to nurture our future leaders to strengthen Singapore’s climate, economic and resource resilience to address the increasingly complex environmental challenges of our time. At the ceremony, we also recognised our in-service scholars from Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Singapore, NEA, PUB and SFA. These officers have demonstrated exceptional work performance and have been awarded scholarships to enhance their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. Congratulations to all our scholars, and I look forward to your contributions to help build a green and sustainable Singapore. 🌿🇸🇬 Photo 1: Many of our scholars’ families attended the award ceremony to support their loved ones. Meet Tay Wei Ping (first from left), one of our in-service scholars from NEA who will be pursuing a Master in Climate Change, Management and Finance. The course will provide Wei Ping with the skills to better address environmental challenges more effectively. Photo 2: Meet Abie Chi, SFA’s Singapore Sustainability scholarship recipient who will be pursuing a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh where she hopes that her studies can equip her with the skills to address Singapore’s food safety challenges. Photo 3: Meet Melissa Koi (second from left), PUB’s Singapore Sustainability scholarship recipient who will be pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University. Because of her passion for environmental conservation, Melissa chose the polytechnic diploma route to gain more technical knowledge on the subject instead of the conventional Junior College route. He will be pursuing a Master in Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development at University College London and hopes to better integrate AI into PUB’s core operations.
