On 3 July 2024, PaxOcean was honoured to welcome the Chairman of SKK Migas, Mr. Dwi Soetjipto and Director & Chief Operating Officer of Medco Energi, Mr. Ronald Gunawan, accompanied by senior representatives from SKK Migas and Medco Energi, to our yard facilities in Tanjung Uncang, Batam, to witness firsthand progress being made on the conversion of a tanker to an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading). The conversion project is a significant effort by SKK Migas and Medco Energi to increase national oil and gas production to support Indonesia’s energy security. Marking a significant milestone, we are proud to announce the FPSO Marlin Natuna’s advancement to the commissioning phase. Upon successful completion, the FPSO will be first-ever tanker-to-FPSO conversion project undertaken at an Indonesian shipyard and is destined for the Forel field in Natuna, Riau Islands. The FPSO is anticipated to set sail in August 2024 and become operational by fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024. The positive feedback from our distinguished guests underscores our commitment to delivering excellence and innovation. This achievement reflects SKK Migas, Medco Energi and PaxOcean’s unwavering dedication, expertise and collaborative spirit whilst upholding the highest commitment to health and safety. PaxOcean Completes World's First Methanol Dual-Fuel Retrofit for Container Ship PaxOcean is proud to announce a groundbreaking achievement in maritime sustainability: the successful completion of the world's first methanol dual-fuel engine retrofit for a container ship, the MV Eco Umande. This pioneering project at our Zhoushan yard transformed the 1,170 TEU feeder vessel into a more environmentally friendly option. The retrofit included a MAN Energy Solutions engine, a complete methanol fuel system, and essential modifications. The vessel was delivered on 23 June 2024.
