Using data is how you gain an edge in the markets. So here's one workflow that helps you win. First, what is the problem we're trying to solve with this workflow? There's a lot of noise in the markets, and we want to find addresses that are buying or selling tokens before large price movements so that we can track them in real-time with alerts. Sounds complicated. But with Nansen, it's not. We have a feature called "Who Bought/Sold" that shows you the top buyers or sellers for any token across the 12 chains we support over any given time period. By selecting a timeframe before large price action, as we saw with Pendle, we can backtest to see who was buying before this movement and if they are profitable. This workflow takes less than 10 minutes to do and we found multiple addresses that are up more than 50% on their initial investment, including a wallet that is up more than $100k on their trade! Now we have those addresses, we can use a feature called "Smart Alerts" that allows you to track any address or group of addresses in real-time across the chains we support. When they make moves onchain, we can see what they do, where they do it, when they do it. Surely this takes a long time to do? Nope. Writing this post and others for other platforms took longer.
