This year, we flocked to Bird Paradise Singapore, where our employees and their loved ones enjoyed a fun-filled day of discovery, laughter, and connection. Apart from touring the different aviary zones, the young and young-at-heart also had the chance to participate in carnival games and express their inner child through face painting and glitter tattoos.     Sometimes it only takes a simple Thank You to brighten someone’s day. M1 celebrated our Staff Appreciation Month in August but showing appreciation for our colleagues is something not forgotten for the other 11 months of the year too. This afternoon, the Marketing team at M1 took an hour off their tight schedules to simply thank and acknowledge one another’s role in making the workplace a happier one. Some thanked their colleagues for being excellent team players, some thanked colleagues for solving their work challenges, while others were thanked for adding cheer and laughter in the office.     4,800 kWh – that’s the approximate amount of electricity needed to power an average 4-room HDB household in Singapore annually. That’s also the amount of electricity M1 will conserve each year by installing solar panels at a single base transceiver station (BTS)! To date, we’ve installed solar panels at 8 BTS sites, with plans to add another 10 in 2025. Adding to this momentum, we’ve also implemented smart network management technology across our 4G mobile network, effectively reducing our 4G radio network electricity consumption during low traffic periods. This might seem like a modest start but we are taking significant, and committed, steps forward on this journey to do our part for Planet Earth – and we’re not stopping here!     Did you know that about 13% of scams analysed by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore in 2023 were likely generated by AI? Despite an overall decline in cyberthreats, scams todays are becoming more convincing and sophisticated – courtesy of AI.   But fret not, there’s always the flipside of the coin.
