#ICYMI: Last week, we were glad to be a part of National Council of Social Service (NCSS)’s Sustainable Philanthropy Framework launch! 🥳 🍀 Together with other fellow ecosystem partners, we hope that through our efforts, businesses and professional firms will be encouraged to develop initiatives to give back to the community. This is all part of NCSS’s drive to provide a robust mechanism for businesses to adopt and measure the outcomes of their existing philanthropic practices, and help them enhance their brand value and take on a more sustained and longer-term approach to resource the sector and give back to society. 🤩 We are proud to be the first organisation to incorporate NCSS’ Sustainable Philanthropy Framework into our two sustainability professional certifications. Through our certifications, we are committed to empowering over 400 individuals and 75 accounting firms by March 2025 to embrace a longer-term commitment to community engagement. The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has launched its pioneering “Do Good” initiative, which signifies ISCA’s commitment to foster a culture of social responsibility and enhance corporate governance within Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) and charity boards. 🤗 🌟 We’re thrilled to announce two new ISCA board mentors under this initiative to enhance corporate governance and social responsibility among Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) and charity boards in Singapore. Meet our new board mentors: 🔹 Dr Gerard Ee is a social service advocate with extensive experience in helming charity boards. Dr Ee is currently on the Board of MOH Holdings Pte Ltd and is also the Chairman of the Agency for Integrated Care. 🔹 Mr Tan Phillip is an industry veteran with a generous philanthropic portfolio. After yet another busy (but productive!) week, our staff took the opportunity to gather for a short happy hour over some delicious makan 🍹, and to celebrate accomplishments and bid our sad farewells. 👋   It was certainly a bittersweet moment as we walked down memory lane through photos and videos to say goodbye to our Divisional Director (Executive Office) Pei Fen Ang, who has been with us for 9 years! Amongst her many achievements during her time here, one pivotal involvement was to transform the ISCA House into the snazzy and warm interior that it is today. Of course, our management team (Fann Kor, Suat Lay Soh, Zoey Xie, Qiu Lin Fua) also took the chance to share wonderful moments with Pei Fen, and while we will miss her being a regular face in the office, we are glad to know she’ll still be visiting ISCA from time to time! 🌟   We also warmly welcomed Edmund Liu and Terence Lam to join the management team, celebrating their many accomplishments over the years. We’re excited for what’s to come! 🎉   To cap off the evening, we let our hair down laughed our heads off at #KumarUncut2024 at Marina Bay Sands. Some of the jokes we cannot repeat here, but we definitely had a lot of fun enjoying the show with each other! Finale Day of the ISCA Global Talent Programme (GTP)! 🌟 🌟 📈 Our #CAStars started the day with their business case presentations, where they took on challenging problem statements from Accredify, Changi Airport Group, Singtel, and The Ascott Limited. They certainly exceeded expectations, delivering presentations that captivated our GTP Taskforce members, business case partners, and ISCA Council Members! A few choice comments included praises for suggesting innovative solutions, being bold to take on difficult scenarios, and having well thought-out methodologies.   Congratulations to the Singtel team Afeef Fitri, Mthawelanga Agbiriogu, Tarun J., for clinching the Audience's Choice Award and Chen Ziming for winning over the audience's hearts as the Rising #CAStar! 🎉   The #CAStars also had the opportunity to participate in a dialogue with our President, Mr Teo Ser Luck, where they picked his brains on his experiences, as well as his advice and tips on both professional and personal success ✨ 💼 Before we ended the day, our #CAStars visited Quest Ventures and BLOCK71 Global by NUS Enterprise, a global entrepreneurial hub headquartered in Singapore, and embarked on a journey to learn from five different social enterprises – Adam Explorer, EqVerve, Lion City Inclusive Chess, SG Assist, Wateroam, and how they aim to make positive social impact to different communities. A big thank you to Russ Neu, Founder and CEO of Social Collider, for the sharing insights on social enterprises and for hosting us! 🥰 While we are sad to draw the GTP to a close, we leave with happy smiles on our faces at how successful the inaugural run was. We had a blast at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore NBS Audit and Assurance Team (NTU NAAT) Audit & Accounting Challenge, and an inspiring time at the Eunoia Junior College career fair, sharing more about the accountancy profession with our future accountants! 📢 We are thrilled to announce our first permanent presence among the Institutes of Higher Learning starting with our pushcart at Singapore Management University (SMU) (outside Koufu). 💥 On Day 4 of the ISCA Global Talent Programme (GTP), our #CAStars had a first hand glimpse of the Singapore business ecosystem through three visits - apex body of chinese business community, Singapore's stock exchange SGX Group and a leading professional services firm PwC Singapore. 📌At Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), our #CAStars explored the latest interactive exhibits housed in a museum rich in Chinese culture. They also gained a deeper understanding of how SCCCI brings together the network of Singapore business owners, and enriching and developing the Singapore business community and beyond. 📌The visit to SGX was an incredible experience for our #CAStars!
