Today, we witnessed innovation in action at IMDA’s InnoJam – an event where our people learn and have fun while developing innovative Gen AI solutions to enhance work productivity. Six teams battled it out, showcasing their groundbreaking solutions to senior management, each with a unique proof of concept from boosting productivity and reducing error-prone processes to automating information gathering and briefs. The creativity and passion shown by the teams were off the charts! It was inspiring to see how these teams used AI to tackle challenges big and small. 🎉 We’re excited to announce that on 24 Sep, IMDA hosted ATxInspire, where Databricks signed the Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with two of our Jobs Transformation Map (JTM) Training Partners — NUS SCALE and NTUC LearningHub. The MOUs were signed by Mr Nick Eayrs, VP, Field Engineering, Asia Pacific and Japan, Databricks; Mr Jeremy Ong, CEO, NTUC LearningHub; and Professor Susanna Leong, Vice Provost (Master’s Programmes and Lifelong Education), Dean of the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education, National University of Singapore. This collaboration will upskill over 10,000 data and AI talent in Singapore over the next three years. Databricks and our JTM Training Partners will bring more tools and practical training to equip our tech workforce with the necessary skills to adopt AI. We are making AI accessible to all businesses in Singapore, empowering every company to harness its potential and drive innovation forward. 💡 The event was a true highlight, featuring an engaging fireside chat with Naveen Rao, PhD, VP of AI at Databricks. I was pleased to attend the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First Singapore, where startups such as Atlas, Cosmos Innovation and Transparently.AI showcased their cutting-edge AI products, developed using Google Cloud's AI capabilities. This collaboration between Google Cloud and Enterprise Singapore is a game-changer, offering SMEs more affordable access to Google's tools and services to harness the potential of AI and realise our National AI Strategy. For digitally mature enterprises with more complex needs, I was happy to note that IMDA has an ongoing GenAI x Digital Leaders initiative. This provides a pathway for enterprises to develop and deploy customised GenAI solutions to meet their specific business needs. AI is more than a technological breakthrough; it will be a driving force for our economy. I encourage all organisations, regardless of size, to leverage AI to accelerate their business growth, through initiatives like Google for Startups Accelerator and Gemini for Google Workspace. IMDA has launched the first AI Playbook for Small States, in collaboration with Rwanda’s Ministry of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Innovation. It was unveiled by Minister for Digital Development and Information, Mrs Josephine Teo at the United Nations Summit of the Future. Developed through the Digital Forum for Small States, which Singapore convenes, the Playbook is aimed at driving inclusive global AI discourse, offering guidance and best practices tailored to the unique needs of smaller nations in harnessing AI's potential. As a key player on the global stage, we are proud to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through this initiative, together with Rwanda. This playbook is a living resource that will be periodically updated, gathering insights and best practices from small states around the world.
