With Artificial Intelligence (AI) expected to transform enterprises across the economy, there is a need to develop AI creators who can generate cutting-edge research and design frontier systems, as well as AI practitioners who can deploy such technology in companies across the economy. Yiheng Yao is one such talent. At 10 years old, he was introduced to coding, building programmable robots. This interest led him to gain diverse experiences participating in the National Junior Robotics Cup in primary school and working with an edutech start-up at age 15. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a double major in Psychology-Neuroscience-Philosophy from Washington University in St Louis, Yiheng was awarded the SG Digital Scholarship in 2024 to pursue a Master of Science in Symbolic Systems at Stanford University. As a forward-thinking graduate student pushing the boundaries of machine learning through interdisciplinary research, he can’t wait to deepen his understanding of how emerging technologies, policies, and real-world challenges intersect to create lasting positive change. More than a platform for showcasing local creativity, it’s also a hub for international deals and co-productions, highlighting Singapore’s talent in every aspect of content creation.
