As we kick off the new year, here’s a reflection on our pivotal year of 2023 in debt management. Noteworthy strategic moves were made, including a US$42M investment in non-performing loans in Thailand and an 8% growth in our debt purchasing loan book. Our servicing clients expanded by a remarkable 60% and we now support over 8 million individuals to improve personal finances and alleviate debt across the region. Impressively, our current total Assets Under Management (AUM) hit US$8.4 billion, marking an 18% year-on-year growth. To support our mission, we grew our team by over 20% across 7 key locations. According to Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Board, Thailand’s national household debt has increased by 3.6% from the first quarter to about 16.07 trillion baht in the second quarter of this year, representing 90.7% of the country’s gross domestic product. Despite the Thai Government’s efforts to address the debt issue, debt is continuing to increase. Thailand’s household debt problem remains an acute issue to solve, emphasised by the rise in non-performing loans and the ineffectiveness of current debt moratorium programs.
