What a special visit from Norway! ⚡   BW Group recently had the honour of welcoming Norwegian Minister of Energy, His Excellency Terje Aasland, and Norwegian Ambassador to Singapore, His Excellency Eivind S. Homme, together with their delegation, to the Seatrium yard in Singapore. Our esteemed guests were warmly received by BW Group Chairman Andreas Sohmen-Pao and BW Offshore CEO Marco Beenen, alongside Seatrium CEO Chris Ong and senior team members from both organisations.   During the visit, our guests were given an overview of BW Group, and key initiatives undertaken in support of the energy transition. The delegation also had the opportunity to tour FPSO hull BW Opal, one of the largest ever built, which is scheduled to commence operations next year.   At BW, we strive for a low-carbon future, in line with Norwegian and European climate goals. Concluding June with a touch of clay artistry ✨   Our fifth BW Recreation Club activity of the year wrapped up the month with an immersive and hands-on abstract texturing workshop. Over lunchtime, our Singapore office colleagues bonded over creating unique clay jewellery pieces that reflected their individual styles and creativity. Each participant took home two personalised accessories, including cufflinks, earrings, keychains, and brooch pins, which some have already begin proudly sporting around the office.   Stay tuned for our next BW Recreation Club event which will surely promise more workday fun and chances to pick up new skills!   #bestonwater #peopleatbw #lifeatBW

The Great Fuel Switch - What's holding decarbonisation back? 💭 BW Group Chairman, Andreas Sohmen-Pao, was recently featured on DNV’s podcast “Trust and Transformations – Leaders Navigating Change,” with DNV Group President and CEO, Remi Eriksen, on the #decarbonisation challenges in the #shipping industry.   Andreas explained why demonstrating intent is crucial to get the industry on board with the move towards alternative fuels, and underscored the importance of engaging in trials, pilots, and investing in decarbonisation efforts.   As a founding partner of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD), BW Group is committed to sustainability initiatives to minimise our environmental footprint and decrease average emissions across our businesses. In the past year, our LNG fleets recorded a 10.7% improvement in the Annual Efficiency Ratio (AER) and 1.3% Energy Efficiency Operational Index (EEOI).   Thank you Remi Eriksen for this insightful discussion.
