  • We recently partnered SGInnovate for the 2nd run of the Biotech Entrepreneur Community of Practice Roundtable with Tuyen Ong, CEO of Ring Therapeutics and CEO-Partner of Flagship Pioneering. This invite-only mentoring session was focused on helping founders and c-suite level executives of startups learn from the experiences of Tuyen Ong, a seasoned bioentrepreneur. He started the session answering the burning questions prepared by a number of the participants, followed by focusing on career planning, career development and fundraising. He also gave personalised advice and feedback to participants who sought help. We would like to thank our participants for being very active in the discussions. This enabled everyone to learn from one another and it definitely made the session a more enjoyable one! Once again, we greatly appreciate Tuyen Ong for mentoring biotech entrepreneurs in Singapore. We hope to continue this partnership with you! We would also like to thank our co-organisers: Vanessa Phua and Jerry Lui. #biotech #bioentrepreneurship #mentorship #founder

What should founders know about fundraising in today’s competitive landscape? 💡 Last week, Gunderson Dettmer and Biotech Connection Singapore hosted a session packed with valuable insights. Jonathan Pentzien expertly distilled the fundamentals of venture financing, followed by a compelling discussion with our Therapeutics Lead Wen Qi Ho and MissionBridge’s Ritika Khetawat on what founders should consider before fundraising. Key takeaways: 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: 👥 Investors look beyond the CEO. A strong team with expertise in key roles like discovery and research is crucial. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: 🤝 The type of capital around the table can influence investor interest. 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: 🚀 A unique and competitive technology is essential to attract investors. A special thanks to co-organizers Brendan Sieow, Beverly Mok, Xun Hui Y. and Grace Wong! #clavystbio #venturefinancing #startups
