  • The Sentosa Sensoryscape is a testament to groundbreaking innovation with its use of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) to turn complex architectural vision into reality. The project team cleverly used digital tools to break down the design into modules of smaller components with precision and captured every detail meticulously. The team also opted for mechanical joints over welding, which saved construction time and manpower. Despite the challenges of uneven topography and the need to ensure the rest of Sentosa remained open while construction was underway, Sentosa Sensoryscape proved that innovation and strategic planning can turn challenges into triumphs – earning them the Project of the Year Award 2024! Curious how the project deployed DfMA? Watch the full video to learn more at go.gov.sg/bca-poy-sentosa. To find out more about Project of the Year, visit go.gov.sg/bca-poy. • At a recent CORENET X Connect event with builders, we had fruitful discussions with close to 40 attendees. Participants also engaged in a focus group discussion to deliberate on challenges faced by large projects, allowing ST submissions to be submitted by parts for eligible large projects, and additional support to better prepare builders for CORENET X. We extend our sincere gratitude to the participants who generously shared their support for CORENET X, insights and feedback on embracing change and gearing up for CORENET X. CORENET X is the result of a collaborative effort between industry and agencies, harnessing digital technologies to promote collaboration among stakeholders in the Built Environment, with the goal of transforming construction practices. We welcome project teams to participate in this initiative during the voluntary phase, which commenced on 1 June 2024. Project teams interested in joining us in this endeavour can submit their requests at https://go.gov.sg/cxbeta. #BuildSG #CORENETX #BCA #BuiltEnvironment #Digitalisation #MyBEITM

  • We are thrilled to announce that two of our pilot projects have successfully obtained their Construction Gateway approvals! Norwood Grand Condominium and Novo Place Executive Condominium are our early pilot projects to onboard CORENET X. This is a major milestone, as the projects may proceed for sales launch and move into the construction phase. The two project teams embraced the collaborative spirit of CORENET X and have generally had a smooth experience. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the project teams for being the forerunners and volunteering their projects to try out the new process and system under CORENET X. Nonetheless, as with all new initiatives, teething issues can be expected, and we will continue to work closely with the industry to ensure a smooth roll out and realise the full benefits of CORENET X. ➡️ Volunteer your project to experience CORENET X via https://go.gov.sg/cxbeta today! #BuildSG #CORENETX #BuiltEnvironment #BCA #ConstructionGatewayMilestone

  • City Developments Limited (CDL) has always been a forerunner in leading transformation in the built environment sector by proactively developing people-centric initiatives and engaging their workforce. As a result, CDL established a strong foundation of open-minded employees, enabling them to pioneer groundbreaking technologies that enhance their processes and operations across their business units. Their transformative DNA extends beyond their organisation – engaging with value-chain partners through BCA's Growth and Transformation Scheme, introducing green leases for tenants, and assisting SME suppliers with carbon data and sustainability roadmaps. • More than 70 international and local participants embarked on this year’s International Built Environment Week (IBEW) Learning Journeys to visit exemplary projects across Singapore where they gained first-hand experience on how innovative built environment solutions perform under actual, on-site situations. The Learning Journeys also featured content on adaptive reuse, enhancing the content featured in the previous editions which showcased retrofitted developments. 🏗️ Visitors to the HL-Sunway Prefab Hub, Singapore's sixth and largest Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH) were impressed by the high level of automation and expressed interest to have such technology implemented in their own country. 🏫 At the United World College SEA Dover Campus, participants marveled at the campus’ commitment to sustainability and innovative green building practices, showing how educational institutions can lead the way in eco-friendly design. 🏢 Participants were also able to witness some test-bed solutions and technologies at Kajima's The GEAR, offering a glimpse into how our work environments might evolve in the future. Thank you to all participating companies and organisations for availing their time and premises for the Learning Journeys, and the participants for making this year's series of Learning Journeys a success. Here’s to pushing the boundaries of innovation to transform the built environment with cutting-edge solutions! #BCA #BuildSG #IBEW2024 #LearningJourneys #Sustainability #ReseachAndInnovation

  • Currently, existing buildings that undergo major works or chiller retrofits are required to meet minimum energy performance requirements. This ensures existing buildings meet prevailing sustainability standards after upgrading. However, if such works are not carried out, there is no requirement for building owners to improve their building’s energy performance. To address this, the Mandatory Energy Improvement (MEI) regime will require owners of existing energy-intensive buildings to implement measures to reduce their building’s energy consumption. Swipe to find out what are some of the steps building owners can implement to reduce their building's energy consumption, when the MEI regime kicks in from the third quarter of 2025. For more information, visit go.gov.sg/bca-mei. #BCA #BuildSG #Sustainability #SGBMP #MEI #EnergyEfficiency
