Realising a circular water economy: At the recent Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize 2024 Award Ceremony and banquet, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam underscored the importance of financial equity in the development of sustainable solutions. During the moderated discussion, he touched on how water technologies are now mature and are ready for investments and deployment, highlighting a water filtration project by the #NTUsg Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, supported by the Lien Foundation, that produces drinking water for a community in Myanmar. He also spotlighted Atera Water Pte Ltd, a local start-up deploying clean water production plants in Vietnam, using affordable nanocomposite membranes for ultrafiltration co-developed by Prof Hu Xiao from the NTU School of Materials Science and Engineering. It’s a wrap! This week at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2024 has been an incredible experience. We had the privilege of showcasing our TeraStream system, featuring nanocomposite membranes designed for high turbidity water treatment. The engagement and interest from industry stakeholders, investors, and clients have been truly inspiring. A special highlight was our CEO, Adrian Y., sharing his insights as a panelist at the Industrial Water Solutions Forum. In the session titled “Technology Solutions for Industrial Water Efficiency,” he discussed how our membrane solutions support water-intensive industries in sustainable water management and how technology providers can support clients in the adoption new solutions while minimizing operational risks.
