Indonesia’s Riau province is the home of our operations, and working and growing with the community is an important factor in APRIL’s growth and success. The centuries-old tradition of Pacu Jalur is unique to Riau. The boat race across the Sengkap river is colourful and exciting, and declared as “an event worthy of promotion, both nationally and internationally,” by restog kusuma, Minister’s Expert Staff at the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Most of all, Pacu Jalur is the most highly anticipated event for the people of Riau province. In collaboration with the government, the APRIL Group has supported Pacu Jalur and our community since 2002. For 2024, APRIL Group, with its business unit PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), contributed IDR 350 million to the events, sponsoring four teams. “This support reflects our commitment to preserving the local tradition in the company's operational area," said Wan Mohammad Jakh Anza, Stakeholder Relations General Manager at PT RAPP. #Pacujalur #APRIL2030

Our unwavering commitment to protect forests, natural landscapes and biodiversity drives our every day actions. We manage natural forests and peatlands next to our fibre plantations through a balanced production-protection approach, unique in business. How unique? We allocate USD 1 for every tonne of fibre delivered, to support conservation and restoration initiatives. Our plantation forest surrounds our 150,000-hectare restoration forest serving as buffer zones against encroachment and illegal activities. In 2023, we invested nearly USD 15 million in conservation and restoration. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gM99CXT8 #APRIL2030 #ThrivingLandscapes #SustainabilityReport

APRIL Group is poised to become a major player in the global #sustainable packaging sector, following the commissioning of its new state of the art paperboard manufacturing facility earlier this year. Rohit G., Commercial Head, Paperboard, APRIL Group, shares more about APRIL’s move into the board space, the competitive advantage of its BoardOne range of products and the company’s enduring commitment to best practices in sustainability. As member of the Forest Concessionaires Association (APHI), APRIL is proud to participate in the Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) 2024 at MGM Cotai, Macao, China, held on 11 – 12 September 2024. Dian Novarina, APRIL’s Deputy Director of Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement and Vice Chairman of the Forestry Multi-Business Division of APHI, shared insights on the impact of global policies and regulations on timber sourcing in Indonesia during the session 'Restoring Reliable and Stable Timber Resource Supplies'. In an era where sustainability is paramount, Sustainable Forest Management Certification—both mandatory and voluntary—is more than just a framework, it’s a crucial tool for enhancing the reliability and stability of global timber supply chains, she added. APRIL's plantation forestry production-protection model integrates economic, social, and environmental considerations. Acting as buffer zones, our plantation forests help prevent unauthorized entry or movement, and illegal activities in the conservation and restoration areas. We recently added 30,000 hectares of community conservation forest to our land bank, complementing the 362,136 hectares of conservation and restoration forest managed under our production-protection model. #APRIL2030 #ThrivingLandscapes
