Dream Cage, a New Horror Game About Sleep Paralysis, Announced for PC
If I die before I wake...
Introducing Dream Cage, a new horror game inspired by the V/H/S films that puts you in the shoes of Robert, a 50-year-old insomniac struggling with sleep paralysis who must grapple with his fears realized before his eyes over five terrifying nights.
You can find over 25 different sleep anomalies over the course of five nights to uncover the origins of your sleep paralysis. Each is based on true stories relayed by actual sleep paralysis patients. You'll be haunted by five unique demons, and your PC's microphone also comes into play, recording your every sound – though we don't yet know what role it will have in the gameplay. The developers did say, "To survive each of the five nights and uncover the source of Robert's nightmares, you must remain silent—do not scream or make any sound." Take a look at the gameplay reveal trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.
Dream Cage promises three different endings depending on your choices, but only one of them reveals the ultimate truth. You'll also face "random hauntings" over the course of your playthrough, and to further add to your gameplay anxiety, "memory lapses will cause distraction—find pills to restore proper functioning."
