Erik Ekudden

As Group CTO, I set the future direction for Ericsson’s technology leadership strategy in the areas of research and innovation. I’m fascinated by technology in its widest form and enjoy exploring the range of future technologies which will empower an intelligent, sustainable and connected world.

Ericsson’s networks provide a critical foundation which enables society, governments, enterprises, small business and consumers to thrive. Our technologies fuel innovation, solve business needs and real-life problems, and create transformative change in society.

My role is to predict future technology trends so we can continue to help our clients to achieve competitive advantage with new technology. To do this I draw upon a decades long career in technology strategy and industry activities. During my career, I worked in Silicon Valley, California, for seven years and this experience informs strategic decisions and investments in mobility, distributed cloud, machine intelligence and the Internet of Things. I also hold a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

I’m interested in connecting with colleagues in the telecommunications and other industries who share a similar passion for research and future technologies.
