📈 Green investment is key to Finland's higher GDP pathway ! A new study by Oxford Economics has interesting findings. In 2024-2030, investment in green infrastructure and technology will rise by €22 bn. By 2030, GDP will be 2.9% higher than the Baseline in the climate leader scenario, with total fixed investment 9.5% higher.  In the study, it is estimated that Finland will export 14 TWh of clean power in 2035. In the climate leader scenario, Finnish emissions will be net zero by 2035. #electricitymarkets #greentransition

Norwegian duo reveals plans for hydrogen and bio-methanol production Norwegian companies Norwegian Hydrogen and MI member Glocal Green have entered into a concrete cooperation agreement for the development and establishment of hydrogen production in connection with Glocal Green’s planned bio-methanol plant in Øyer in Gudbrandsdalen. The deal is based on the dialogue the two companies have had since they entered into a letter of intent two years ago, Norwegian Hydrogen said, adding that the hydrogen production will be organized into a separate jointly owned company. Dag Nikolai Ryste, CEO of Glocal Green, stated: “A two-year study and dialogue between us have today resulted in a joint commitment to hydrogen production in connection with Glocal Green’s methanol production units. It has crystallized into a clear win-win model between the parties, and in addition, this efficiency will benefit all other parties along this holistic value chain, and not least the market.” According to Norwegian Hydrogen, bio-methanol will be produced from low-grade biological residual materials and by-products from forestry, agriculture, and the marine sector, and by adding hydrogen in the production process, “all the green carbon is utilized, resulting in a volumetric doubling of methanol production.” This methanol, with added hydrogen, is termed bio-e-methanol. https://bit.ly/3KCp5h9 #methanol #efuel #energy #energytransition #futurefuel #cleanfuel #alternativefuel #marine #maritime

While our industry leaders and politicians recommend an “orderly energy transition”, nature is not behaving orderly at all. The last 10 months have set new records for heat, flooding, and wildfires. Spain’s early spring heat this month of April has already broken over 70 temperature records. We may already be in a climate bifurcation, beyond the point of no return. Trying to hold on to the status quo should not be an option. To create effective new solutions, we need major global cooperation instead of increased protectionism and war mongering. Staying one step ahead of the trash! 💪 There is currently no system in place to reuse, repair and recycle solar cells. 🚀 The CircSolar project, a collaboration between stakeholders in the entire value chain, led by Axfoundation using research from Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, now plans to change that. And the conditions to get a system in place look promising! 🌤️ Beatriz Pérez Horno, researcher at KTH, is now working with the project partners to find solutions that take business models, incentives, compensation structures, and policy proposals into consideration: “We are currently examining various future scenarios to predict flows and processes.
