We're excited to announce our participation in the upcoming 19th Annual Congress of the French Microbiology Society (SFM) - "Bienvenue chez les Microbes" in Lille! If you're attending the SFM 2024 Congress in Lille, come and say “Bonjour” to Eddie and Alexandre who will be there to answer your questions. Let's contribute to advancing the field of microbiology together. #SFM2024 #Microbiology #BiotechInnovation

We measure small changes in the metabolic activity of your biological system through the power of microcalorimetry.
Om oss
Cell metabolism and monitoring made easy - label-free and continuous measurements of biological activity. Multi-channel assay that measures the specific metabolic phenotype for cells and pathogens in real-time with exceptional precision. Return to phenotype - The calScreener™ cell-based assay provides a phenotype response measurement with unprecedented sensitivity and versatility. We enable: Smarter drug development - Bridge the gap between in-vitro and in-vivo testing Rapid and accurate diagnostic - Customize treatments for infections due to multi-resistant bacteria Want to see what others cannot? All living cells produce heat during metabolism. We measure this heat at unsurpassed precision. No heat equals no metabolism. The only absolute measurement of death. We make it possible to see what was previously impossible. Applications are limited only by the imagination of the scientist. Bacteria. Cells. Organoids. Worms. Ants. Feces. If it fits in the tube we can measure it. Symcel is a biotechnology company located in Stockholm and was founded by Dr. Dan Hallen and Prof. Ingemar Wadsö in 2004, leading authorities in the field of biocalorimetry.

Next week we’ll be attending 19th Annual PDA Pharmaceutical Microbiology Conference and workshop! Wilhelm presents a poster on “Phenotypic sterility testing for ATMPs with detection <3 days with calScreener ”. We look forward to engaging with the technical experts within rapid microbial methods as well as companies in need for speed in the bioprocessing assays. If you're attending the PDA Pharmaceutical Microbiology Conference, we'd love to connect! Contact Wilhelm and Chris on LinkedIn. #PDAmicro #BiotechInnovation #PharmaMicrobiology

A beautiful sight indeed!
Isn't this the most beautiful sight? Two microcalorimeters from Symcel, side by side at LPM (Universiteit Gent). The younger (but more advanced) calScreener Plus can't wait to start cranking out data asap, and will initially be mainly used by Indra Sioen in a project on advanced pharmaceutical sterility testing.

We're excited to participate in the upcoming Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa next week! If you're attending, we'd love to connect! Message Jesper on LinkedIn or the partnering platform and meet up at the conference. We have a very collaborative approach to innovation and rapid QC. #CellAndGeneTherapy #BiotechInnovation #MeetingOnTheMesa

We look forward to engaging in session 2 regarding ATMP analytics at the yearly ATMP Sweden event!
Welcome to session 2 of 'ATMP Sweden 2024' - Innovations and critical needs in ATMP analytics. Chaired by Leo Groenewegen (Nordic BioAnalysis AB) and Lindsay Davies (QVance) . The session profiles some of Sweden's leading actors in ATMP analytics and explores the synergies in what we already have and what is still needed. Make sure to register soon! Registration closes the 1st of November. 11:25 Quick pitches “Evaluating potency in ATMPs with FluoroSpot“ - Ellen Einarsson - Mabtech “Auto-antibody biomarkers” - Fredrik Sundberg - Sengenics 11:35 Jesper Ericsson - Symcel “Rapid sterility testing“ 11:55 Therese Choquette (former Vallerskog) - Tigen Pharma “Potency Assays for cell based ATMPs“ 12:15 Katarina Bredberg - bioMérieux 'Critical needs in mycoplasma testing' https://lnkd.in/gJEZFfKX

Right now, at EBJIS – Can the use of a synthetic synovial fluid medium in combination with isothermal microcalorimetry (IMC) improve accuracy and reduce time to detection in prosthetic joint infections? Yes! The majority of samples that were positive from culture were also positive for IMC but... IMC gave a much faster result with detection in less than 24 hours. Amazing presentation by Amber De Bleeckere at EBJIS 2024 with important contributions from JEROME GV NEYT, Stien Vandendriessche, Jerina Boelens and of course, Tom Coenye

Great to see this publication out: "Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of bone and joint pathogens using isothermal microcalorimetry" The fantastic work done by the team from the University of Copenhagen shows how #biocalorimetry could be an important tool for the diagnosis and treatment of bone and joint infections. Congratulations to Mads Christensen and Thomas Bjarnsholt on this fantastic work. Check out the publication here. https://lnkd.in/ddU_QSqN

We love it when we get visits from our customers! Dr. Stephanie Gros was in town to present at the ISPSR Conference and came by to say hello. ISPSR is an important international conference for pediatric surgical research. Stephanie has been championing the calScreener in this field for monitoring the metabolism of patient derived tumor models to find better treatments. Whether it's microbial infection models or tumors, we know that the calScreener is extremely good for monitoring the metabolism of cells in complex environments. With almost zero processing, if it fits in our vials - we can measure it.

Looking forward to be in Malmö for NLSD this week! Happy to discuss with anyone interested how our orthogonal technology makes it possible to detect living microbes faster than all comparable methods. Main commercial opportunity in ATMPs short-term, followed by several other verticals.

Last chance to register and join us online or live at Institut Pasteur where our very own Kasper Kragh will be introducing the calScreener. He'll show how you can make better biological models and get more data using microcalorimetry. Sign up via the link below: Sept 12 at 12.00 CEST https://lnkd.in/d2eMQyT2
