Today, our thesis students from Chalmers, Olof Johansson and Måns Modig, presented their completed project, with Sigma Energy & Marine as industry supervisors and the Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS) as the client. Their work, "Winged Drone Impact Study," examined the forces involved if the drone were to collide with another flying object within the current airspace. The drone, shown in the picture, is being developed by SSRS and partners to be first on the scene at accidents, providing rescue crews en route with images to offer a better situational overview before they arrive. Fredrik Falkman, SSRS's Head of Innovation, was also present today, and we highly value the opportunity to contribute to SSRS's development efforts. More to come! #SigmaSimulation #Drone

Last week, we at Sigma Energy & Marine, travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa for an unforgettable conference trip. An important purpose with this trip was to explore and learn more about our main CSR initiative – Star for Life. We got to visit Sapebuso Primary School to deliver shoes for all the children and a donation of 120 000 RAND. Star for Life is also a powerful force in reducing the impact of HIV and AIDS on children by making them aware of their own health through the "AIDS-Free, That's Me" concept. Det är en spännande och utmanande tävling för alla mellanstadieklasser i hela Sverige. Teknikintresset sjunker bland unga och det råder brist på teknisk kompetens och ingenjörer. En brist som, om vi inte gör något åt det, kommer finnas även i framtiden. Därför lanserar vi nu Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race. I årets Innovation Race ska de deltagande klasserna skapa något som kan göra staden och vardagen de lever i roligare, bättre, säkrare och/eller enklare. De tio bästa idéerna nomineras och får bevis på sin kreativitet och att de är Experts of Tomorrow. Vid den direktsända finalen presenterar juryn, ledd av Magnus Göransson, känd från TV4s LEGO Masters, det bästa och mest innovativa bidraget.
