First year of being an IFPA Ambassador trainer was nothing short of amazing. It was nerve-wrecking as it was my first time, fortunately most of the training materials were very close-to-heart. It felt so amazing to be able to put my advocacy skills into good use. Shoutout to Camille Lancelot for providing both Joel Nelson and I sufficient support prior to our first session. Looking forward to more experiences like these 🌼

Last week, we united the psoriatic disease community and truly covered the broad spectrum of this disease. We are closing the gap between disciplines, between specialty groups and the patient community, between knowledge and action. Aansluitend aan de IFPA conferentie was ook de jaarlijkse IFPA member meeting met alle aangesloten #psoriasis patiëntenorganisaties vanuit alle landen wereldwijd. Samen spraken we over de uitdagingen die mensen met psoriasis in het leven tegen komen. We hebben in een aantal groepen brainstormend gewerkt aan drie ingebrachte onderwerpen: het betrekken van jeugd, de uitdagingen van AI en de 10e verjaardag van de resolutie van de WHO op #psoriasis. Gevolgd door een Speeddate langs de verschillende projecten en ondersteuning die IFPA biedt, met een presentatie over de impact die IFPA en haar leden afgelopen jaar samen hebben gemaakt. Daarnaast presenteerde een aantal landen projecten die zij hebben gedaan ter lering en inspiratie voor andere psoriasispatienten organisaties. Zo leerzaam en fijn om samen met andere #patientadvocates geïnspireerd te worden en samen te werken. Many thanks to @IFPA team en board voor deze leerzame dagen.

What an engaging three days in Stockholm at the 7th World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Conference hosted by IFPA chaired by Dr. April Armstrong, MD MPH! It was fascinating to listen to experts unpack topics from #treatment advances to unmet needs to the #prevention of psoriatic arthritis from a global vantage point. I had the honor of highlighting the work of the National Psoriasis Foundation and the complexities of accessing care in the U.S. through two panels: "From diagnosis to treatment: Rethinking care to better meet patient needs" (presented by Bristol Myers Squibb) and "Beyond the surface: a deep dive into the psoriatic disease spectrum." These sessions included a look at data from NPF’s Health Indicator Report - recently released as part of our work under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Chronic Disease Education & Awareness Grant - and impactful research funded by the NPF including the CP3 grant with the potential to change and extend lives! Today, the focus shifts to the IFPA patient organization member meeting. Last week, I had the honor to present my research work on “Environmental triggers of psoriasis onset and worsening” at the IFPA (international federation of psoriatic disease associations) conference in the beautiful city of Stockholm, Sweden! It was a wonderful experience where I got to meet lots of new people and discuss important research in our field. I would like to thank everyone involved in the mySkin research, especially my supervisors at King's College London Prof. Catherine Smith and Dr. Satveer Mahil.

We had the incredible honor of presenting on stage at the IFPA Conference member meeting as the Psoriasis Association of Kenya. We shared the impactful work we are doing, highlighted our upcoming projects, and paid tribute to our late founder,chairman and IFPA president whose vision and dedication continue to inspire us to keep his works and legacy alive. Our journey in advocating for psoriasis awareness and support in Kenya has been challenging but rewarding in various ways.
