With three big wins at this year's Good Design Awards, it's fair to say Polestar 3 had a pretty good night at Australia's most prestigious design event. Collecting wins in the Product Design, Automotive Design Award – Best Exterior Design, and 2024 Best in Class Award for the Automotive & Transport categories, our SUV was praised as "a symbol of a new era in mobility, offering a sophisticated, sleek silhouette with a striking road presence."    Collecting the awards on behalf of the Polestar Design team, exterior designer Nahum Escobedo said: "As a design-led brand, winning these awards means so much to Polestar and the design team who worked tirelessly on this project. “Plug & Charge” is now available for drivers of Polestar 3, allowing them to initiate and pay for charging simply by plugging in their vehicle. There’s no app usage or card swiping needed as the vehicle completes the authorisation process itself. Payment is automatic and even easier if Polestar customers are using Polestar Charge. What's better than one world record? How about two?   Since taking to the waters in 2023, the Polestar-powered Candela C-8 hydrofoil boat has turned into something of a phenomenon. Following the record-breaking global distance of 777 kilometres set late last year, the electric vessel recently became the world's first battery-powered boat to cross the Baltic Sea. The 150 nautical mile trip from Stockholm, Sweden, to the Åland Islands, Finland, was made possible thanks to the day cruiser's unique design and battery capabilities.    All Candela C-8s feature the same 69kWh battery packs as the Polestar 2 Standard range Single motor vehicles, bringing road power to the water. Polestar technology also enables fast charging, with 0 to 80% achievable in just 30 minutes. "With batteries from Polestar, the Candela C-8 is perfect for this type of trip. This is an electric vessel that can travel to destinations that were previously only reachable by combustion engine boats," says Gustav Hasselskog, CEO and founder of Candela.   So, congratulations to all involved in this feat. We're not saying these records are ours. But they're certainly powered by us.
