As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer (for us in Europe) ☀️ it's time for us at Nudgd to wind down and enjoy the summer break. From now until the second week of August, most of us will be taking a break and focusing on recharging our batteries. 🌸 So we want to wish all our followers a wonderful and relaxing summer! Take this opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones and friends, enjoy the great outdoors, and maybe try to be screen-free. 🌿 We’ve gathered 3 nudges that you can try out to help you stay screen-free this summer: ⏲️ 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐔𝐬𝐞: Allocate certain times of the day for checking your devices and stick to them. This way, you can fully immerse yourself in the present moment without constant digital interruptions. 🚫 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬: Designate areas in your home or during activities where screens are not allowed. This could be the dining table, your bedroom, or even during outdoor activities. 🏄♀️ 🏃♂️ 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Plan and enjoy activities that don't involve screens, such as hiking, reading a physical book, playing board games, or simply having a face-to-face conversation. Let's make the most of this beautiful season by disconnecting from our screens and reconnecting with the world around us. Nudging leverages subtle cues and timely reminders to encourage people to make better decisions without restricting their freedom of choice. Our platform applies this clever approach to promote sustainable travel habits. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 Smart Nudges Mobility taps into life transitions like moving to a new city or starting a new job, known as the "fresh start effect." We send SMS messages with links that provide relevant information and actionable steps towards sustainable travel. These nudges are designed to be delivered at optimal times to maximize their effectiveness. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀? - Achieved a 14% reduction in car usage in Gotland, exceeding the 10% target. - In our Helsingborg project, 39% of participants changed or planned to change to more active travel modes, surpassing the 30% target. - 30% of users stated that Smart Nudges Mobility influenced them to choose more sustainable travel options. Nudgd's Adventure in Budapest! 🇭🇺 Our senior behavioral scientist, Andrijana Musura Gabor, Ph.D., attended the first visit for the EU Horizon 2022 REALLOCATE project, where Nudgd is a proud horizontal partner. A fun fact: Budapest’s twin city is Zagreb, and Andrijana, originally Croatian, works remotely from Zagreb! 🇭🇷 🌍 The Budapest team warmly invited a Nudgd representative to explore the potential of creating nudging interventions within the realms of space reallocation and urban mobility. 🌍🚴♀️ 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗡𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 🚶♂️🛴 Nudgd, is a Swedish startup, and with their digital platform Smart Nudges Mobility they leverage #behavioural science to promote #sustainable #transport habits. 🌱 Through the Kickstart Innovation Program, Nudgd collaborated with Helsingborgs stad on a pilot project aimed at transforming the mobility mindset in schools. The results were outstanding: 📈 𝟯𝟵% of participants chose or planned to switch to active travel modes. 👨👩👧👦 Engaged 𝟮,𝟰𝟬𝟬 parents and staff 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟮𝟱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀. 🚶♀️ 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 the likelihood of switching from car use to active transportation. 🏆 Awarded the prestigious 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱! By integrating nudging principles, the initiative successfully encouraged environmentally friendly modes of transport such as #cycling, #walking, and #skateboarding, enhancing both #safety and academic #performance in primary schools. De använder nudging på flera spännande sätt för att förbättra återvinning och källsortering på deras återvinningsstationer och -central. Ett av exemplen: ♻️ Bytt namn från Återvinningsstationer till “Förpackningsstationer” – vilket skapar rätt associationer för hjärnan och gör det lättförståeligt vad som ska slängas där. ♻️ Använt Avfall Sveriges tydliga ikoner istället för långa texter – vilket hjälper hjärnan genom att det blir tydligare, enklare och snabbare att förstå. Dessutom bidrar det till igenkänning eftersom samma symboler används på kärlen där avfallet ska slängas.
