Foodtech represents the largest sector on Norrskens Impact 100 List. Every year Norrsken lists the world's 100 most promising impact startups. We're delighted, and not so surprised, that "Sustainable Food Systems" represents the largest sector of the list. 18% of the winners come from the food system. And this excludes Health, the second-largest sector on the list. Food is so much more than calories and well-being. It touches upon all aspects of planetary resources, life and joy. Congratulations Allozymes, C16 Biosciences, Chinova Bioworks, Hyfé, Kapu, Planet A Foods for making the list! Thank you Norrsken for highlighting these important solutions and impressive teams! www.norrsken.org/impact100 https://lnkd.in/dVCnWpjh

Start-ups for Food Security and Sustainable Food Manufacturing. Foodiq's technology for dairy and plant-based allows for small batch manufacturing of clean-label products (without additives) with superior taste and mouthfeel. The technology is compatible with any combination of locally available feedstock of proteins, fats, fibers and natural flavorings. We’re very proud to see Robert Savikko, Foodiq CEO, selected to pitch at Gulfood Green in Dubai this week. Nicoya is a strong supporter of Foodiq, which provides an important tool for increased food security in areas such as the Middle East and beyond. This weekend, we're all converging on New York for Climate Week—a gathering I swore I'd never return to after witnessing the chaos of hundreds of events all vying for attention. The noise was deafening, with varying levels of authenticity and intent, and I promised myself I was done. But this year, something feels different. While FOMO and ego often steal the spotlight from eco-consciousness, 2024 marks a turning point. It's the year where climate and nature finally converge in both conversation and action. In the backdrop, the planet has endured unprecedented climate and ecological shifts—the hottest year on record, with temperatures soaring 1.45°C above pre-industrial levels and atmospheric CO2 reaching 430 PPM. My personal mission remains clear - to pioneer nature-positive, profitable, production models for both soil and ocean health. I am so grateful to bring it to life through a range of inspiring initiatives, including: Regenerate Asset Management a Private Equity model where we purchase and regenerate degraded land allowing ecosystems bounce back and thrive, improving biodiversity, sequestering carbon, and producing profitable, commercial returns. @ REGEN HOUSE on Tuesday afternoon for a conversation on FINANCING REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE with fellow panellists Sara Farley, The Rockefeller Foundation and Richard Zaltzman, EIT Food. Climate-KIC and the Climate-KIC Community (see the programme in Kirsten Dunlop's poste below) arguably the world's most important community for climate collaboration and community action sign up here: https://lnkd.in/d_sEXw96 @ CIVIC HALL, NY on Wednesday afternoon for a conversation on LESSONS LEARNED IN INTEGRATED LANDSCAPHE MANAGEMENT & BIOREGIONAL REGENERATION moderated by Kirsten Dunlop with fellow panellists Murray Gray, Metabolic, @Sam Tabory, CoRE, Mahmood Sonday Reos Partners and Seth Shames, EcoAgriculture Partners. Tickets here: https://lnkd.in/dhCZFwaw Savory Institute / Savory Foundation a landowner/farmer led model for grasslands, where we create return driven economic conditions for farmers to adopt regenerative practices in perpetuity. By sharing knowledge and trading the data generated from regenerated farmland, this model helps farmers profit from their contributions to the environment. Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and its RE:OCEAN Fund where we aim to catalyse the next generation of ocean innovations to support the transition towards a net-zero, regenerative, and more equitable economy. It's that time of year again! One of the most significant climate events of the year, New York Climate Week, is starting next week. I’ll be there with Climate-KIC and our partners from the Systemic Climate Action Collaborative - https://lnkd.in/egPJcHNt We have curated an exciting series of events that will address some of the most critical conversations of our time: 🍃 How can we create meaningful storytelling and narrative to build hope and inspire action? 🍃 How can new forms of collaborations help us accelerate and integrate climate action? 🍃 How do we unlock large-scale investments in climate adaptation and resilience? 🍃 What does it take to support holistic and systemic approaches to urban transformation, sustainable re-industrialisation, integrated landscapes, bioregions and regenerative agriculture at the speed and scale we need? 🍃 We’ll also be addressing the climate finance gap and discussing the importance of decolonising digital information. I can’t wait to connect with those passionate about driving these missions forward. Be sure to check out our program and book your tickets soon, as space is limited! https://lnkd.in/e5CFn5SF Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Eva Gladek, Anthony Zacharzewski, Indy Johar, Jayne Engle, Martin Wainstein, Robin Hodess, Tom Mitchell, Csaba Manyai, Lucy Shea, Solitaire Townsend, John Holm, Deirdre White, Farhana Yamin, Mille Bojer, Rupesh Madlani, Silvia Bastante de Unverhau, Erik Bruun Bindslev, Sara Scherr, Melody Song, Anne-Sophie Clulow-Garrigou, Neil Walmsley, Murray Gray, Mahmood Sonday, Charlotte Burson, Alexandre Fernandes #ClimateWeekNYC
