KTH Innovation's Lisa Ericsson and Anna Dadfar spent last week in Mumbai together with H&M Foundation to launch the next round of the innovation challenge Global Change Award, where Kungliga Tekniska högskolan is a partner. The Global Change Award aims to accelerate innovation for a net-zero textile and fashion industry by 2050 and promote solutions that benefit both people and planet. Together with a large network of nominators, we are now looking for solutions that can propel the textile industry towards net-zero emissions. During the launch, Lisa Ericsson joined a panel discussion together with Charles Oyamo, Founder & CEO of Rethread Africa and Laura Coppen, Head of Sustainability Investments at H&M Group Ventures. Moderated by Annie Lindmark, Program Director Innovation at H&M Foundation, the discussion focused on how we best can enable early-stage innovations by joining forces across the value chain and supporting changemakers. - All stakeholders need to come together to take on the challenge of cutting CO2 emissions in the textile industry. Universities need to lean in and take a more active role in the transition, and that's what we aim to do with the Global Change Award, says Lisa Ericsson. Ten winners will be awarded in April next year with a grant of 200,000 EUR and get access to a one-year Changemaker Programme provided by KTH Innovation, Accenture and H&M Foundation. Think you should be nominated? Reach out! #GlobalChangeAward #decarbonisingfashion Pictures by H&M Foundation.
