Have you ever heard of HbA1c? HbA1c is a vital component in improving the quality of care for children living with type 1 diabetes in low- and middle-income countries. HbA1c levels represent the average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months. The use of point-of-care testing for HbA1c provides the opportunity for more timely changes of treatment, and by improved control of HbA1c, children suffering from diabetes can experience better outcomes. “The partnership between Novo Nordisk and HemoCue ensures availability of the HbA1c diabetes marker to children that otherwise would not have access to that marker. The Changing Diabetes in Children program has the potential of reaching 100.000 children in 30 different countries”, Kasper Oktavio Schweitz - EMBA, PhD, M.Sc. Schweitz, President at HemoCue. #AdvancingCare

Last week was #WorldPatientSafetyDay - a global initiative bringing together patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers and many others, to help raise awareness about the vital role of correct and timely diagnosis in improving patient safety. A diagnosis identifies a patient's health problem and is key to accessing the care and treatment they need. A diagnostic error is the failure to establish a correct and timely explanation of a patient's problem, which can include delayed, incorrect, or missed diagnoses, or a failure to communicate that explanation to the patient.* At #HemoCue, patient safety is a continuous commitment, not just a one-day focus. Hear from Global Product Managers Charlotta Blomstrand, Manuel Gonzalez Artunduaga and Michael Aistrup Nielsen on what they believe is important to improve patient safety and ensure the best outcomes for all. #AdvancingCare #PatientSafety *https://lnkd.in/eSNin93A

The team at #HemoCue India recently participated in a CME (Continuing Medical Education) event focusing on anemia-related topics. Organized by the Department of Community Medicine of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, the event brought together public health specialists from across the country. It served as a great platform for knowledge-sharing and encouraged valuable discussions on how healthcare professionals, public health specialists and other important stakeholders can work together to improve anemia management in Uttar Pradesh.   Krishna Kumar Maheshwari presented HemoCue’s solutions for anemia screening and hosted a booth at the conference together with Farhan Khan, demonstrating the ease of use and fast time to result of the HemoCue Hb 301 Analyzer, highlighting how it can help healthcare professionals make quick, informed decisions for better patient outcomes.   “It’s been a privilege to participate in this CME at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences,” says Krishna. “With nearly 150 participants on-site and over 100 joining online, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn from healthcare experts who are making a difference on the ground.” #AdvancingCare
