Magnora ASA - Helios Nordic Energy AB delivers the first large-scale pv plant on the sunny island of Gotland to Nordic Solar A/S Today, Nordic Solar received a 40 MW ready-to-build pv project with all necessary permits and a grid connection agreement with the grid owner GEAB. The project is located on the Swedish island of Gotland, south of Visby, on some 60 hectares of well-suited land. The project is part of the Merope portfolio that Helios Nordic Energy AB (Helios) sold to Nordic Solar in early 2023. Helios will continue to play a role in the project by providing construction management services during construction and thereafter asset management services after the pv plant enters operation. To date, Helios has sold projects with an estimated capacity of 955 MW and has overall delivered six projects totaling 207 MW to customers, including Nordic Solar AS, Hafslund, Commerz Real, and Solgrid. With this track record, Helios has proven to be one of the leading PV developers in Sweden. More project deliveries are expected in the near and mid-term. Danish company Nordic Solar A/S has launched construction work of the company’s first solar park in Sweden. Nordic Solar is building a 22 MWp solar park near Lindesberg in southern Sweden, which will be capable of providing power for c.7,000 European homes per annum once operational in Q3 2024. Nordic Solar said the Lindesberg solar park was the first construction initiated the company as part of a series of projects in collaboration with Swedish development partner Helios Nordic Energy AB. “Sweden is an important region for the development and production of more solar energy, and we share the ambition to speed up the energy transition,” noted Nikolaj Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar. “We look forward to strengthening the production of solar energy in southern Sweden, where our new solar park in Lindesberg is the first of several projects that we are now building. With the new solar park and the upcoming projects, we are pleased to be able to supply the region with much more solar energy power and help accelerate the expansion of renewable energy in collaboration with our skilled partners.” Nordic Solar outlined plans to deploy ‘several hundred MWp’ of solar parks in Sweden over the coming years. The solar projects to be developed with Helios Nordic Energy will total approximately 270 MWp. The Lindesberg solar park will feature 31,000 solar panels over a 44-hectare site. “We have designed our new solar park in Sweden with a focus on optimizing the production of renewable energy,” added Glenn Aagesen, COO of Nordic Solar. “The tracker system is the ideal solution for the area covered by the solar park and, at the same time, highly efficient. “Moreover, we are collaborating with biologists from Mols Consulting, who have also contributed to developing and measuring various biodiversity-promoting initiatives in our two newest solar parks in Denmark, on the possibility of encouraging biodiversity in the area through various initiatives. We have a firm intention of combining the production of solar energy with a good framework for animal and plant life in the solar park.” #cleanenergy

Magnora ASA's (Magnora) portfolio company Helios Nordic Energy AB (Helios) signed today an agreement to sell seven solar pv projects with combined capacity of 252 MWp to Norwegian energy company Hafslund. This transaction is Helios seventh and largest in terms of size and value to date. Six of the projects are in zone SE3 and one in SE4. These parts of southern Sweden have attractive solar irradiation conditions while running short on energy production and grid capacity. Due to the attractive locations of the projects, the price per MW for the portfolio is in the high end of Magnora's price guiding. Helios sells most projects when a substantial part of the risk is mitigated. Typically, Helios receives partial payment when a transaction is closed and the remaining payment when projects have reached ready-to-build status. Hafslund has acquired four projects where the construction phase is likely to start in 2024 and three projects expected to reach ready-to-build in 2025-26.
